The same night, Chelsea stepped down from the taxi in haste. She paid the driver before closing the door behind her. Then she checked her phone and glanced at the bar, her heart pounding in her chest before she headed in. The scent of expensive drinks and colognes hit her nostrils. The space had a warm glow that kissed the walls, and slow bass mixed with the soft chatter of the people inside. Chelsea’s gaze darted around, and when she didn’t spot who she was looking for, she texted someone. “I can’t find him.
