CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Before Gabe and Lindy reached school the next morning, the gray clouds floating overhead turned into black menacing thunderstorms, threatening rain.
He gave the clouds a quick look, but his mind still dwelt on yesterday and his conversation with Charley. Having his own personal angel felt weird. It also made his lips curl up in a grin. And, maybe, just maybe, Charley could help him deal with Mick and Bud. He chuckled at the thought of no bullies to harass him and being free from Mick and Bud until he felt a tug on his arm and Lindy said, “Hey, it’s starting to rain,” which wiped the pleasant thoughts from his mind.
