CHAPTER NINTEEN With their laughter dancing in the air, the girls dashed to the tennis courts. Gabe trailed after them, wishing he were braver and could say “no” sometimes. To add to his dilemma, everyone in town seemed to have chosen today for fresh air and exercise. He hated crowds. They suffocated him. Why then did he find himself in the middle of people where voices, some laughing, others talking, filled the air? Easy answer. Lindy asked him to come to the park. He agreed.
