After driving for about an hour, I pulled into a drive-thru, realizing it was well past noon, and ordered for both of us. I handed her her food, and she took it quietly. "Thank you," she said faintly. It was a small thing, barely a conversation, but it sent warmth flooding through me. If I had known talking to her could feel this good, I wouldn’t have been so cold from the start. I could’ve been having these moments with her, like Colton, Millie, and Theon do.
