At the Celebrity Condominium
The petite woman looked around the luxurious condo with awe. It was like a large house, complete with all the amenities.
"Are you really going to let me stay here?" a sweet voice asked. The room she was staying in couldn't compare to this place, and the rent there was only 72 bucks a month. How would she earn enough to live in a place like this?
"Yes. Why? Is it too small?"
"What do you mean small? I can't afford this, it must be really expensive."
"I told you... pay what you can... you can pay the same as your previous room," he said, not too concerned.
"Isn't 72 bucks too little for a room of this level?"
"I'll take 57 bucks..." The tall figure finished speaking and walked over to sit comfortably on the expensive long sofa. "Don't worry... I could even let you stay for free."
"Why are you doing this? Are you trying to lure me?" She was still unsure of his goodwill; it seemed too good to be true, making her suspicious.
Phone ringing~
Riz calling...
"Hmm..."
"Bro... have you reached the condo yet?"
Charles took the phone away from his ear and put it on a speaker, so the petite woman could hear too.
"Just arrived... just now."
"Don't do anything to my friend. Okay, do you understand, bro? Once you're done, just leave."
"What's going on? I just got here. Driving is tiring... can't I at least have a drink? Why are you being so harsh on me?" The tall figure grumbled, looking at the sweet face that was scrutinizing him.
"Just eat and leave quickly... it's late... tomorrow morning I'll pick up Feliz for school... it's close by too."
"Can I pick up Feliz and take her?"
"No!" Feliz exclaimed immediately.
'What's going on? Why do they want to keep such a distance? He is a person, not trash,' he thought.
"You heard that, right, big brother? Listen, Charles... don't try anything... that's it, now hurry back! Sweet dreams, Liz!" Then the pesky little sister hung up.
Huh, how could she be so mean to her own brother?
"I know, I know... no need to look at me like that... I'm about to leave," Charles said in a dejected tone, knowing full well that look was meant to chase him away. Is he still the owner of the room or not? Why does it feel like he's just a guest?
"Thank you for understanding," the petite girl said before walking away to drag her suitcase and organize it.
"I'm thirsty... can I have some water before I go?" Charles stalled for time, hoping to stay a little longer, at least another 5 minutes, to gaze at the sweet face and inhale the sweet fragrance a bit more.
"Go ahead!" Because this is his room, after all, it would be too rude to outright kick him out.
Charles walked to the large fridge and slowly took out a cold bottle of water. Feliz stood watching the tall figure with a handsome face gulping down water without blinking.
Wow, does he have to look that good while drinking water?
Ba-dump, ba-dump!
Her little heart suddenly skipped a beat. Especially when he tilted his head back, lifting the bottle to drink, his Adam's apple moving up and down with each swallow, it made her heart race, forcing her to quickly turn away.
'No, Feliz, don't even think about it. He's a player; don't be swayed by his looks!' she reminded herself in her mind.
"I need to pee... can I use the bathroom?"
Feliz turned sharply to look at his handsome face, along with the large bottle of water he had just drunk. 1.5 liters of water! Is he crazy? Is he a camel to drink that much water?
"Why did you drink so much water? Just go home!"
As soon as the tall figure was about to pass her to the bathroom, her small hand pushed his chest to stop him, but she quickly withdrew her hand when she felt the firm chest that seemed like someone who exercises regularly.
"I was just thirsty... and maybe drank a bit too much... so I suddenly felt the urge to pee."
That's just an excuse. He's so sneaky!
"Don't think I don't know... that you're just trying to stall!"
The tall figure hesitated slightly when the small one saw through him, so he could only give her a dry smile, but in return received a cold stare, forcing him to give up and abandon his plan to stay longer.
"If you're going to be this cold to me... you might as well add some pearls," Charles said.
"That's bubble tea!"
"Oh, you played along with the joke... you're quite the jokester..." Charles said in a cheerful tone before looking down at the sweet face staring intently at him. "I won't bother you anymore... so... good night, little one." He gently patted her head, giving her a warm smile that could melt anyone's heart before leaving the room. "Make sure to lock the door properly... I'm heading out now," he reminded her about safety once more.
Bang!
Thump thump!!
As soon as the door closed, and he left, Feliz's heart started racing.
"Phew... don't, Liz... don't fall for that ridiculous smile of his." She sighed heavily, reminding herself. Her small hand was placed on her left chest, feeling the intense pounding inside.
"Damn it! What kind of ridiculous smile is that..." That devastating smile haunted her, making it hard to sleep.
Did he put a spell on her? Crazy!
