After my cold shower, the love bombing commenced. Everytime he "punished me", he followed it up with food and what he referred to as cuddles. It was more or less him crushing me to him for a few hours, telling me how much he loved me and how we would be on our own farm, in the hills of Jalisco soon.
Barf. I'd rather c*t a limb off.
"I'm sorry for that mi cielito. You make me so mad when you get sassy like that. I just need you to follow my rules. The more you do, the less pain I'll have to inflict you. You know I love you. Once we get over the border, we'll finally get married. Then it will just be me, you and the cartel. My cartel. Then I just need you to birth my heirs." He ran his hand down my cheek.
I internally rolled my eyes. Like he*l.
"Miguel, why are you doing this? And where's my brother? We could have gone about this differently if you had just talked to me."
Not really. I would just have been more prepared. I knew he was into me, but I didn't know how into me he was, aka obsessed.
"He's not your problem anymore. He'll never hurt you again." He gently kissed my forehead. Almost like he cared.
I didn't have to worry about him? Did he ki*l him? I mean there's no way Luis would have risked an alliance and given me over to Miguel. So it makes sense. And part of me was sad if that was the case. My brother wasn't always like this. When we were younger he looked out for me. But he was raised by a monster to become a machine. Teaching him young the way of the cartel tor*ure. Which was dark. Very dark. You could find videos on the Internet that would haunt you. So it messed him up. And he did what he had to to survive and become king. And now he was gone. I felt torn. Just one less man in my life trying to control me I guess, but he was blood. One of the only blood I had left.
Then the one man who made me feel free popped into my mind. Sure, he had me on lockdown often, but for good reason. And even that didn't prevent them from getting to me. But he encouraged me to continue school, something I never would have been able to do back home. I missed him. His smile. The way he smelled. Like cinnamon and cigars. The way he always made me hold his hand wherever we went, even when no one was around. It was like it hurt him when he wasn't touching me. And it was the same for me. God, I hoped I could see him one last time. Even if for five minutes. Just to tell him everything I felt.
To tell him how much he meant to me. And how much I loved him.
Soon I hoped.

We had just arrived in San Antonio to meet with the Limerick gang. They were good friends from afar. We had their backs back home, and they were always welcome, and same went for us. Including now.
Luckily for me, the Irish dealt mainly with low-level street deals. Don't get me wrong, it made money. But they also battled the cartel. They had more real estate and stronger allies in the states, though, and this made a big difference.
I was more than grateful for them. I didn't have her in my arms yet, but I was so close I could feel her.
I knew there was no way he hadn't hurt her. From what I gathered, he was a sick fu*k. But my girl was strong. She'd survive. She had to. For herself. For me. Please, God for us.
"Ey mate, good to see ya. It's been a minute."
"That it has brother." I gave Kilean a tight hug and slap on the back. "I seriously have to thank you for everything. I owe you big time."
"Ah no problem. We had eyes all over Texas. There was no way he was gettin through without one of us seein em."
"Right. Last spotting?"
"Motel on the outskirts of town. Shi*ter hotel. Crime ridden area. Perfect place to hide out. No movement besides some food deliveries. Figure that would be a good place to start. If he does another order, we could send one of our guys to deliver."
He had a he*l of a good idea. Only one problem.
"He'll recognize us. They were sniffing around ours for weeks. They had a good look at most of us."
"That's alright mate. I'll send one of mine. Just have your guys standin by."
"I can't expect you to do that, man. The guys unhinged. You guys have done enough."
"Look, we protect our people, each other's people and definitely our women. Let us help. The sooner we get this show on the road the better. Can't afford to waste any more time, ya?"
He was right. We really couldn't. So we made a plan. One of his men signed up for Door Dash. It was a big city, so it would be hit or miss. But most wouldn't grab at the opportunity to drive that far outside the city for a measly tip.
So we waited. And while we waited, I got a call from Clown. He was in town. I wasn't entirely surprised. I figured he wouldn't stay away after our last interaction when we left. He looked lost the last time I saw him. I knew that what happened to his sister was banging around in his head. He wanted to save her too. Something he couldn't do for his sister.
A few months ago, I would have questioned him about why he was so interested in helping, but not now. I knew what he had with her. She finally had a brother who genuinely cared and he had a sister again. And I was OK with it. He*l I was happy to have him. Any extra bodies meant we were closer to getting her back.
So we waited. And waited. Until finally, the app had alerted us that a delivery had been requested from the hotel. We immediately took the job. Now it was time to get our plan in motion.
Declan agreed to be the delivery driver. The hotel was a one-story ground level structure with plenty of open space around it.
So the plan was simple. Surround the place. Have someone ready at the back door to bust it in. Once he answered the door, we ambush. And hopefully, Olivia would know what was happening and make the right move, run. Hopefully she wasn't too injured to do anything.
That thought alone made my stomach sour. I hoped she was still with it. He*l, I hoped she was able to walk. But I can't think of that right now. No. She was OK.
"Alright. Let's head out. Stealth is what we need tonight. No room for fu*king error. This is my woman. I won't settle for anything less than all you have to offer." They all nodded in return.
The ride to the hotel felt like hours. I just stared out the window thinking about all the possibilities of what tonight could turn into. Each thought brought me closer to her. Closer to holding her. Closer to my life being complete again.
They weren't joking. The hotel was sh*t. Something from a horror movie. Something Miguel could afford considering. He ordered a burger and fries. I doubt he was even feeding her. How weak was she going to be? Had she had any water?
We parked down the street with the others behind us. The curtains were drawn tightly, barely any light escaping the dingy room. We quietly exited and headed towards our spots. Some in the distance, some up against the building. Me and Ace stood on either side of the door while Declan approached the door, burger in tow. Clown was at the back door ready to enter quickly.
Declan knocked. Once, twice. We heard the sound of the chain lock open. My heart thundered in my chest.
This was it. I've got you princess. Always.
