Chapter 5Luke maneuvers his Porsche in the parking lot of the local park. Lakeview Park is located on the south side of Westcrest, in the city’s best neighborhood, and only a five-minute drive from Luke’s home. It’s the biggest park in the region, with a large lake surrounded by tall trees and green meadows. In the middle of the rich flora, a narrow, paved trail crisscrosses the manicured lawn, where dozens of people jog and stroll every day while savoring the pleasant ambiance of the arboreal nature.
It’s harder to find a spot than he imagined it would be. He thought few people would wake up before eight A.M. on a Saturday to go to the park, but the parking lot is almost full. Guess there are plenty of morning people out there.
