“Wow. Look who finally decided to come downstairs and meet the rest of humanity.” Clara's voice echoed through the dining room the moment I stepped in.
Just hearing her voice that early in the morning already made something tighten painfully inside my chest.
I ignored her completely.
The smell of coffee and buttered toast filled the air while morning sunlight poured through the large windows, making the polished dining table shine softly.
Everyone was already seated like they had been waiting for me.
Which honestly meant they probably had.
