Following the alpha was more uncomfortable than showering with other omegas or girls in P.E. class. Trying to keep up with him was nerve-wrecking. It wasn't his aura bothering me, it was how angry he was that scared me.
Stopping in front of his office, he opened the door, letting me go through first. As I walked by him, we made eye Contact as the mystery counterpart whispered, Mate" in a Soft tone.
"Mate," they both said, but it seems as if he already knows that we're mates.
Fuck. he cursed under his breath as he pushed me further into the office, knowing the rejection was Coming, we were grateful to leave sooner.
Closing the door quickly, he looked at me with guilt. "I'm Sorry, but I think you should leave tonight instead, it's no longer safe here for you. You'll find your true mate" James says with guilt and regret written all over his face. Is this why he treated me better than anyone else did?
"I'm Sorry, Scarlet, I am." He says as tears run down my face. "I Apha James Parker Alpha of the blood moon pack reject you Scarlet Parker as my mate and Luna of the blood moon pack"
"I Scarlet Parker, accept your rejection as mate and Lung of the blood moon pack." Hazel and mystery were crying in our mind as we felt the bond snap, looking around confused as to why it didn't hurt. Weird, that didn't hurt," I muttered as I grabbed my chest. Numb and void of any emotion, I turn around and walk out of the office
"Aw, look! The freak is so heartbroken! I mean, who would want a freak anyway?" Veronika laughed at my misery
"Veronika that is enough! I told you to go to the room! I have never met A luna who acts like you do. It's honestly disappointing, and I'm starting to doubt you ever being a good chosen mate and Luna." Alpha James says as I walk out of the office behind the Alpha leaving Veronika to stew in her anger.
Leaving the office felt off, almost like a chain that shackled me down finally snapped, telling me I was freer than ever before. I made my way towards my room, ignoring all of the staring I was receiving, just as I made it to the main Living room, when pain engulfed my entire body. Burning, searing pain. I felt as if I was being burned at the stake while all of my bones were breaking over and over again.
Trying to hold back my screams was difficult. I couldn't hold them back, it hurt so hard that I tried to curl up in a ball, unable to focus on the crowd around me.
"Hazel, what's gone with me? Why does it hurt? I ask through gritted teeth.
“We are shifting, little one,” the Mystery girl in my head said, then finished with. “Now that I’m awake, I’m your wolf Artemis.”
“Wolf? I thought I was just a witch." I scream into my own head by accident.
Bones breaking, and readjusting as I shift for the first time. “Everyone give her some space! She’s shifting!” Shrieked a panicked guard trying to get the crowd to move back.
Through the pain, I try to breathe instead of screaming. Looking up, I see everyone is shocked, shaking their mouths or chests, heads start bending to the side in submission.
Wait, why is everyone bearing their necks?
"Shh, it's okay, scartet, don't fight it. Let her come forward and take control." Alpha James Voice came through like a soft, fuzzy blanket, bringing so comfort.
"'Breathe in and out." As my Screams cut him off.
"Baby girl, let me have control". Artemis cooes. Too tired, I gave up control and within minutes, I was standing on all fours.
Peeking through my eyes, my sight had become sharper, and I could see more clearly and strongly. My hearing is even better now.
Wait, why is everyone whispering about me? Looking around, I look for a mirror.
In pure shock, unable to look away at the Sight before me.
OH MY GODDESS" I screamed through our link. "We have the night sky on us!"
"Woah, Artemis, you mean we are gorgeous!" Haze gushes
Artemis just chuckles at the 2 of us.
Looking closer, I notice our fur is just the night sky, it's just like my hair, but the white side is silver and on the left instead of the right.
"Hey Artemis, do you know why we have the night sky on us? I've never heard of this." I ask in awe and adoration.
"All I know right now is that we are a special shifter, and I wasn't supposed to be blocked off from you or Hazel either, "She says softly.
Turning around, I'm immediately startled by everyone bowing.
The sight I'm seeing. Everyone in the room was before me.
"Scarlet, you're absolutely gorgeous, and Your Majesty, it's an honor to be your guardian," Alpha says Shocking everyone
