I shift back immediately as a blanket gets draped over me.
"Wait, what? Majesty?" I'm confused.
"Letty look at our right shoulder blade," Hazel whispers causing me to look back into the mirror and fall on my butt, making me stumble, causing some people chuckle.
The laughter is soon shut down by a loud shriek that comes from the entrance of the living room.
Standing there was a fuming Veronika without waiting a Second more, Hazel and Artemis started chanting Something, but I was focused on watching Veronika's movements as she charged towards me.
Too blind with rage, she didn't notice Alpha James already moving in front of me, catching Veronika in time, holding her to him, pinning her arms to her sides.
Before anything else could happen, we were teleported to a clearing in the woods on unclaimed territory. Rogue territory to be exact. I always thought I would never get to see something so breathtaking. A huge lake with a waterfall that's surrounded by fields of flowers.
While taking in my surroundings, I assess the area for any other shifters.
Thankfully, the coast is clear, but where are we?
"We had a feeling like we had to come here, so we did, Hazel shrugged, sounding tired.
"I believe we're meeting someone here. I just barely finished cleansing poison from our body that was restricting our magic, just in time for that woman to smell of demon." Artemis also says tiredly. The thought of what would have happened if she hadn't, we all just shudder at it.
"I wonder who we might be meeting' I thought to myself.
Hey Art, since you were locked away, does that mean there could be more locked away? I ask curiously. Not wanting any more surprise counterparts
"I'm not entirely Sure, I think so because it's just a space, completely Black in here instead of as it should be." Art answers genuinely.
A heavy gust of wind blows an unfamiliar scent around me, and I go straight into a defensive Stance to protect myself, listening for any movement that comes from the left of me.
In the distance is a man approaching, hands up to show he isn't my foe.
Don't fret, my daughter, he's your uncle and guardian, Damon Jay." Says a Soft, gentle voice in my mind.
Putting my faith in the voice, I just sit and watch him get closer. Realizing I'm still in the blanket, I shift into Artemis and sunbathe.
As Damon hesitantly approached, he relaxed, seeing that I was unfazed by him. Crouching in front of me, he says." Hi Scarlet, I'm Damon Jay, your uncle on your mom's side. I'm your mom's twin brother," he explains as he sits down next to me on the ground. Setting his bag down that I didn't notice he had, in front of me.
I figured you wouldn't have any clothes, so I've brought some for you. There is a tent set up for you to change and put your clothes on. We are camping there for the night. It'll be safest." He adds before getting up.
Getting up alongside my uncle. My mind is trying to process the events from today and all of the new information. I didn't even know I had any family. Something must have happened.
Keeping close to this man, now known as my uncle, I realized I felt safe with him. It's the first time in my life that I felt Safe.
Reaching Camp, there's a tent and a small fire pit. The tent was big enough for 3 people. I walk up to the tent and wait for Damon to unzip it for me.
Noticing I was waiting for him, he unzipped it. Gently petting my head, a zap shoots through me and a familial bond Snaps into place, proving he's my uncle.
Looking up at him, he nods, sensing my slight hesitation.
I go inside and look back waiting for him to zip it back up. Once zipped up, I set the bag down and imagined my human form, painfully shifting back.
Ouch, that hurt! I'm so glad it didn't hurt as much the first time
"It should hurt after shifting a few times" Artremis reminds me
Remembering that I'm naked, I quickly go through the bag pulling out a shirt that reads Gamer girls Do It Better and a pair of leggings. How'd they know my size? I'll ask him later about it, throwing them on quickly, I walk out of the tent searching for my uncle and spot him by the fire making supper for the two of us
After Supper, I went back to the tent and went to one of the made-up cots. Lying on the cot felt so much better than a makeshift bed. Sleep came fast, pulling me straight into a dream.
Chirp, Chirp, the sound of Chirping birds, waking me, grass underneath me, the air around feels fresher, what happened to the Sleeping bag and cot?
