CHAPTER 46 Sweet, precious Kennedy, I’m so sorry to be writing you like this, and you’ll have to forgive my atrocious handwriting too. I’m back at the hospital again. Doc doesn’t think I’m going to make it. And that’s not because he hasn’t tried. I swear that man would give me one of his own lungs if he thought it could help. I’ve got pneumonia. Funny, right? Strong, healthy man like me. I’m glad you can’t see me like this. Wasting away wouldn’t do it justice. And it’s not just the pneumonia either. Doc says everything’s shutting down one system at a time. There’s nothing left to be done. He’s risking a lot letting me write you this one last letter, but I told him how important it was to me.
