“Scarlett! Are you in there?” I heard the Alpha’s muffled roar from without.
I flung the shoes off my feet. The wedding gown was the last thing to take off.
“If you don't respond I'll be forced to break in. You can't keep us all waiting.”
Immediately I heard that I rushed toward the window, raising the hem of dress as I managed to jump out. I began climbing down the pipe—the only escape route. I heard the door jam open from above me as I hastened downward. I could feel every ounce of blood rushing into my heart. I was too scared to cry this time. I looked around me when I finally landed on the empty field.
“Scarlett!” I heard the Alpha roar above me. The day was burning brightly. It was too easy to spot me as the glistening wedding dress radiated in the sun.
