I quickly buried my back flat to the wall as the door swung open, shielding myself from view.
“Scarlet! Where did she go again? Hey you, didn’t I ask you to always keep an eye on her?”
“I’m sorry, Alpha but the princess asked for a few minutes of privacy,” another voice responded. The Alpha was just a few meters away from where I stood. I bit my fingers as I retained a still position.
“Whose order would you rather follow, mine or the princess’? You’ll be so sorry if this turns out bad.”
There was a sound from below. It sounded like the heel of the princess smacking the pipes.
“Who’s there?” the Alpha shouted. I shut my eyes as I sighted his shadow drawing closer to the curtain. He swung it open and to my surprise, the princess blocked his view.
