She hit me on the cheek and replied with gritting teeth, pointing a finger at me,
“You wouldn’t dare. I’ll ruin you to the core if you ever try it.”
I wasn’t scared of her threat because I knew we both had something to lose, although my stake was higher than hers.
“He’ll never find out if you just save me this last time and trust me when I say this man is no good for you. He does terrible things…” She interrupted me angrily, almost spitting on my face as words flew out of her mouth,
“Coming from a murderer. I don’t need any of your foolish opinions. He’s my mate and I love him. Period. Mind your damn business and stay out of mine. I’ll choose him over and over again over that good-for-nothing pack.”
She broke down in tears. I didn’t know her reason for the emotional break
