977 Words
The grand hallway of Toma Academy buzzes with excitement as students head to their classrooms. Raina, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation, steps into her new classroom. Her gaze sweeps over the room until it lands on Tamrin, the Alpha Wolf and the most popular student, sitting at the back. His eyes lock onto her with a mixture of curiosity and mischief. **Raina:** *(smiling nervously)* *“Hello! My name is Raina, and I’m a human. I specialize in taekwondo and I like to write stories. I hope you all consider me as your friend.”* Tamrin, seated casually, mutters under his breath. **Tamrin:** *(murmuring)* *“She’d probably be monster food.”* The teacher, a stern woman with glasses perched on her nose, turns her attention to Tamrin. **Teacher:** *“What did you say, Tamrin? Please repeat it.”* **Tamrin:** *“I said she would probably be monster food.”* **Teacher:** *“That is not an appropriate thing to say to your new classmate.”* Raina, unfazed by the comment, responds with a shrug. **Raina:** *“It’s fine. I’m used to these kinds of remarks.”* The teacher’s gaze softens slightly, though she maintains her stern demeanor. She notices an empty seat next to Tamrin and gestures for Raina to take it. **Teacher:** *“Raina, please sit next to Tamrin.”* Raina moves to the seat beside Tamrin, who eyes her with a mix of amusement and challenge. **Tamrin:** *(with a sly grin)* *“Now this has to be interesting.”* **Raina:** *(looking at Tamrin)* *“I never thought in my life I would sit with a person like you.”* During the break, Raina is approached by a friendly face. A girl with a warm smile introduces herself. **Classmate:** *“Hi! My name is Riku.”* **Raina:** *“Hi.”* **Riku:** *“I’m a dog species, and we’re going to be roommates. Let’s be friends!”* **Raina:** *“Okay!”* Tamrin, who has been watching from a distance, saunters over with a smirk. **Tamrin:** *“Well, well, well. What do we have here? Oh, look, our human friend has made an actual friend.”* **Raina:** *“What do you want?”* **Tamrin:** *“Oh, nothing. Just felt like annoying you.”* **Riku:** *“Don’t mind him. Come on, I’ll show you around the school.”* Raina follows Riku as they explore the campus. Tamrin watches them leave, his smirk never fading. Riku shows Raina around, and they are having a good time. When Riku’s phone rings, she excuses herself to take the call. **Riku:** *“Please excuse me for a second. I have to take this. I’ll be back in a bit.”* **Raina:** *(to herself)* *“Wow, this place is so beautiful. I didn’t expect it to be this stunning.”* As Raina admires her surroundings, she hears rustling from the bushes. Her curiosity turns into unease as she moves closer to investigate. She hears male voices and realizes that someone might be watching her. She hides behind a tree, her heart pounding. Suddenly, a figure appears behind her, covering her mouth. Raina struggles but is held firmly. **Unknown:** *“Shh.”* Once the boys leave, the figure reveals himself to be Tamrin. **Raina:** *“You?!”* **Tamrin:** *(sarcastically)* *“You’re welcome. You could’ve been eaten by those boys.”* **Raina:** *“No, I wouldn’t have.”* **Tamrin:** *“Don’t deny it.”* **Raina:** *“Don’t think I’m scared.”* **Tamrin:** *“I swear I heard your heart going ‘thump-thump-thump.’ Is it because I was too close to you?”* **Raina:** *“What are you implying?”* **Tamrin:** *“You like me, don’t you?”* **Raina:** *“What’s there to like about you?”* **Tamrin:** *“I don’t know. Maybe my handsome face?”* **Raina:** *(scoffing)* *“I won’t fall for your ‘handsome’ face.”* **Tamrin:** *“We’ll see about that.”* Tamrin moves closer, pinning Raina against the wall. His face is inches from hers, and his hot breath warms her skin. She struggles to free herself, but his grip is firm. Their faces nearly touch, but before anything can happen, Riku’s voice calls out. **Riku:** *“Where did you run off to?”* Raina kicks Tamrin away and hurries back to Riku. **Raina:** *“I just saw a cute squirrel and went to check it out.”* **Riku:** *“Okay, let’s go.”* Raina and Riku continue their tour of the school, while Tamrin watches them with an amused smirk. The bell rings, signaling the start of the next period. Students settle into their seats as the teacher begins the lesson. **Teacher:** *“Today, we’re going to talk about powerful creatures. There are many powerful beings in this world, such as alphas, vampires, and dragons.”* Raina raises her hand, her curiosity evident. **Teacher:** *“Yes, Raina?”* **Raina:** *“Can’t humans also be powerful?”* Tamrin scoffs, clearly amused by the question. **Raina:** *“What?”* **Teacher:** *“Is there a reason you asked that?”* **Raina:** *“Well, there are humans with powers who can be stronger than monsters.”* **Teacher:** *“No one has seen such humans in existence yet. When that happens, we can discuss it. For now, let’s continue.”* **Raina:** *“Okay.”* **Tamrin:** *(mockingly)* *“You won’t be powerful.”* Raina glares at him, clearly annoyed
