28 “What the hell was that all about?” Harlan asked. Adam waited until they got out of sight of Doreen’s house, but he couldn’t wait any longer. “Pull over,” he said. Harlan edged the pickup onto the narrow shoulder with a jerky stop. Adam stumbled out of the truck and made it a few feet from the front tires before falling to his knees and vomiting his crappy diner breakfast. Even worse the second time.
