Little Joe approached the huge brick building on the corner of 27th and Avers. It was true that all eight of the apartment units had stood vacant for years and years (maybe decades from what Little Joe knew), and the sole tenant of the monstrous building was the little old lady who lived in the basement apartment all by herself.
The building itself, like all long vacant homes nestled in the thick of any neighborhood, held its share of ghostly stories and sightings – everyone it seemed knew them. However, due to its proximity to another vacant structure – the church, the link between the two was a simple one for people to make.
