He quickly dropped the bone and skittered away from the Father towards the center pile, which until now had been a shapeless dark formation in the center of this cavern. From his deepest darkest nightmares Little Joe could not draw a comparison to what overcame him now. The light now cast its glow out over the area and it shifted like candle light in the darkness. The shadows of the room danced for him in a slow and brooding act – like the dance of an African tribe to the beat of the drums. The pile in the middle of the earth now stood, bright and clear. Bodies, dozens and dozens of bodies – maybe hundreds lay there now piled twenty feet high, mangled and broken. Festering in mud and dirt – limbs were strewn everywhere.
