CHAPTER 26 Outside the wind howled, and the cool air grasped his lungs and squeezed the very breath out of them. The storm was coming in from the north, and with it brought a cold front that was rarer on this summer day than the precipitation of frogs from the sky. He ran as fast as he could down the alley, but felt lightheaded as soon as he reached midway to the end of the alley. He stopped to take his breath, and to calm himself down. What had he done?
