CHAPTER 20 When the daylight finally and mercifully arrived at his window, his mind emerged from its deep slumber. All was quiet in the house and he quickly and quietly got dressed and exited out the front door, ensuring no one heard it open, nor close. The cool moist air outside froze him to his core. It must have been fifty degrees out – more like a Wisconsin morning in late fall than a Chicago summer morning. The grey clouds above greeted him hungrily, almost threateningly, ready to pour over him at any second.
