Eight years later, the baby boy had grown and he was called Lowish. He always had nightmares. Robbin and Cloe were both working in a*****e opened by Glidex and Cloe. They sell hot buns, sea soup and bread. Zoey and Robbin attended to customers. Glidex proposed marriage to Cloe but she refused, asking him for more time to think about it. He felt unhappy. There was a girl who loved to eat at Cloe’s store. Her name was Leah. Leah was as old as Robbin and she valued her friendship with Zoey and Robbin a lot. A day came. Leah introduced them to her dad. He was pleased to meet them. After business for the day, Leah took Robbin and Zoey round the city in her carriage. Leah’s dad was the city marshal, a rich and prominent man, and her mother was dead. She died when Leah was five years old. Leah grew up in the care of her nanny, Gina. Leah was the only child of her parents, Robbin and Zoey kept their background a secret from her. “Let’s go to the lakeside, children play beside the lake. The weather is always friendly around the lake”, Leah said to Robbin and Zoey. Zoey never liked Leah coming around, she felt Leah lusted after Robbin, “no..! Robbin and I will not join you at the lake. Children play besides the lake. We are not children. We are not interested”, Zoey said angrily. Robbin looked at Zoey and saw jealousy and envy in her eyes. He smiled at Zoey and placed his arm around her waist. “It’s a harmless proposal she made. We should give it a chance. Please, Leah is a nice person. Don’t send her away” he whispered into Zoey’s ears. Zoey agreed to it but under the condition, “ Cloe will have to know where we are headed”, she said. Robbin returned to the store to tell Cloe about the visit to the lake. She told him that the lake in Kurta is called lake jult and some believe it has an effect on destiny, although the environment is a serene place to be with friends. “Don’t be late, Lowish will stay with me in the store”, she said as she rubbed her hand on Lowish’s head. Robbin and Zoey called Cloe their mother and Glidex their father, because they took care of them, they became a family.
On the way to the lake, they stopped to purchase some fruit. “Look, what is going on there…”? Zoey asked, pointing at the crowd. Robbin said they should go and have a look. As they approached the crowd, Leah told them the crowd were there to know their fortunes. “Is the man in the middle a fortune teller”? Robbin asked. Leah replied “yea” smiling, “we need to leave here”, Robbin said in anxiety. Leah was surprised and asked if everything was okay. Robbin told her they had a long way to go. On their arrival at the lake side, they sat down on the log at the bank of the lake and discussed cheerfully. They told stories and ate fruit, they laughed and looked happy together. Leah told them how her dad advised the king of Kurta to attack Alaska at the time they did. “My dad knows a lot about the star, he knew the right time to attack Alaska”, she said, giggling. Robbin and Zoey looked at each other and pretended they were not from Alaska. They heard loud clopping from horses coming from a distance. They were silent for a moment to find out the direction of the sound. When the horses approached, it was Leah's father’s men. “Your father ordered us to take you back home, your groom is waiting”, one of the men said. Leah was very angry. “I will not get married to a man I don’t love. Am I not coming with you”? She said on her feet “capture them all”, one of the men said in an angry tone. They were all carried into the carriage. Robbin and Zoey were thrown out of the carriage on the way to Leah’s house. “I said that this girl is never a good omen, let’s avoid her” Zoey said to Robbin. Robbin kept quiet about her and they both walked home. When they got home, Cloe prepared potato soup, they ate it and told her all that had happened beside the lake. Cloe told them to stay away from Leah. “I discovered later, her father is Bizaardvark, the city marshal. He is a wicked but prominent man” she said. Robbin and Zoey decide to stay away from Leah. In the night, Lowish had nightmares. He was sweating profusely and moaning. This happened every night after he celebrated his seventh birthday, but the visions were not clear to him. That night was different. Lowish rose up at about midnight and his eyes were white. They could not see the pupils because they rolled up behind his upper eyelid. Lowish had a seizure and after which he fell into a deep sleep. This made everybody stay awake till the day broke.
