Salty’s excited barks interrupted a very pleasant dream.
“Shut up, you stupid dog.” Emery rolled over and clasped the pillow over her head.
“Honeys, I’m home!” A familiar and highly unwelcome voice reached Emery’s ears.
“s**t! What’s Mandy doing home already? I thought I was picking her up at the airport.” Emery grabbed her phone. “f**k, how did it get to be so late?”
She threw the covers off and grabbed her shirt and pants from the pile beside the bed, not even bothering with underwear. Lina wiped the sleep from her eyes, but only pulled the covers higher.
“I’ll be up in a minute.” Lina’s voice was muffled. Emery wanted nothing more than to crawl back under the covers with Lina, to reignite the passion they’d been sharing for the past two days,
