“Em! Em! Come quickly!”
Her father’s voice boomed in the general direction of Emery’s bedroom, the room she’d barely left since returning from Mandy’s house. It didn’t take long before she was settled back into her old room, as though the past week had never happened. Her father’s voice held a note of urgency, but did not seem alarmed. Still, curiosity impelled her to set aside the book she was reading and see what the fuss was about.
