I wake up in the morning to find somebody sitting on my bed. I'm so startled, that I nearly scream. Elena looks back at me and smiles.
"You're such a scaredy cat," she says, her tone light but her eyes sharp.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, my voice trembling slightly from the shock.
"Relax, Ruby. I came to talk to you. You did say you would have an answer, right?" She tilts her head, studying me like a cat watching a mouse.
I sit up, trying to steady my breathing. "I didn't expect you to just... appear in my room."
"Well, time is of the essence, darling. We don't have the luxury of waiting around." She crosses her legs elegantly, calm and collected.
"So, what’s the plan?" I ask, my voice steadying as I focus on the urgency of the situation.
