After what felt like an eternity, they returned.
"If I'm going to help you, you must do everything I tell you," the man said, his voice hard.
"Yes, please, anything. Just help me get out of here," I responded eagerly.
"You will have to disappear. Elena won't stop, and when Edward finds out, he's going to kill her. The only way is to make you disappear, go as far away from here as possible. I never want to see you again. With you lost, so is the evidence. Do not ever come back here. If you do, and anything happens to Elena, you will deal with me," the man growled, his eyes hard, maintaining eye contact.
I knew he was trying to intimidate me, but I didn't care. I just wanted to be far away from this nightmare. "I understand," I whispered. "Just help me get away."
