I am all over the place, emotions swirling in a chaotic dance inside me. Since I’ve decided to give this another chance, I realize I need a few minutes to myself to process everything. So, when Edward asks me to go back with him to his apartment, I refuse.
"I'm sorry, Edward. I’m ready to trust you, but I can't come with you today. I'll drop by when I get off work tomorrow. Just leave me this day to marvel at the decisions I’ve made."
He nods, looking at me with understanding. “I get it. Don’t take too long, okay?”
“Okay,” I reply.
We share a kiss, filled with a mixture of hope and uncertainty, and he reluctantly heads out the door. As I sit there, contemplating the decision I’ve made, I really hope I’ve made the right one. I would hate for this to come back and bite me in the ass.
