I nodded, feeling reassured by Sarah's support. "You're right. We need to find a way to make sure this wedding is what we want, not just what Rose wants."
Even though I assured Sarah that I was going to talk to Tom, or Alex as I'm learning his family likes calling him, about the wedding and making sure I get involved, I had absolutely zero plans of getting involved in the planning of the wedding. I knew that Rose had struck a nerve, so I wanted to make Sarah feel better when I stood with her and said,
"Yes, we're going to plan this wedding. We're going to take control. Rose has to listen to what I also want. I have to get involved in my own wedding." I listened to her rant and agreed with her, but the truth was, I was letting Rose handle the wedding.
