Game changer

Kabir's POV

The moment I messaged her she replied to me immediately. I was surprised to see her message. Anyway, I felt glad she didn't ignore me but rather chose to reply me back.

I talked to her for about half an hour and I realized she asks too many questions! At first, when she asked me what is my job I thought she is kidding me but nope she was damn serious and this is where I took the opportunity of asking her out but she declined my offer very gracefully leaving me a little upset. So I decided I will not tell her about my work unless and until she will meet me.

"I am just too eager to meet you, Miss Naina." I sighed and leaned back in my swivel chair only to see her smile surfacing my mind. It brought an unusual smile on my face, just thinking about Naina made me smile!

"Kabir stop behaving like this! You haven't even met her yet!" I chided myself for being too kiddish and delve into my work.

That following day there was some kind of calmness in me and it was because of that small talk with Naina. It was too difficult for me to distract myself. Even the thought of her made me smile. So I took out her photo and was just staring at her when my privacy was disturbed by none other than my best friend and also my big brother Aarav Malhotra. He is the CEO of this company and I am the manager.

"Hey bro! Everything good ha?" He asked raising his eyebrows at me suspiciously.

"Yup everything is fine," I said hiding Naina's photo from my brother's constant gaze.

"What is it, Kabir? What are you hiding? Is that Naina's photo." He asked smirking.

No wonder he knows about Naina as everybody knows about her in my family, I couldn't utter a single word so I just nodded, feeling a little embarrassed to be caught red-handed.

"Its okay I have known her since she was a baby girl. You know Aditya Kapoor right? She is his younger sister. She is by far the sweetest person I have ever met. You are a lucky man Kabir." He said in a serious tone.

I cannot help but ask" have you met her? I mean when??"curiosity was clear in my voice.

"Well I went to Aditya's house a few months back and she was there so we happened to meet. But let me tell you, bro, Aditya is very protective of her. Don't ever think of hurting her because you have to face me first then Aditya. She is also just like Sanaya to me! Got it?" He asked in a very possessive manner.

Even I have never witnessed this side of my brother. Suddenly he became so serious that I gulped seeing how his eyes changed color from grey to dark in just a matter of seconds!

"Bhai trust me I will not do any such thing. In fact, I really want this relation to work out. The moment I laid my eyes on her Bhai I knew it she is the one for me!" I said seriously and genuinely meant every single word of what I said.

By brother Nodded and said "I trust you, Kabir, just remember what I said.'"

"Hmm," I said.....

"By the way, you don't want to crack Mumbai deal that you are sitting here carelessly?" He asked c*****g his eyebrows at me.

"Of course Bhai. I was leaving for the airport." I said rolling my eyes.

"Okay, okay. All the best!" He said before leaving.

Next two days just went in a blur and I was too busy to even think of anything else except this deal. I didn't remember anybody calling me and today when the deal was finally sealed and I cannot be happier. So I decided to call my mother before giving a call to Naina. It's been two days since I talked to her.

But when I reached for my phone it was not there, in fact, I didn't remember having it with me from the last two days as I was just too busy to notice. Then it struck I lost my phone on the first day itself. I got panicked and started assuming things which didn't even exist. What if Naina tried to contact me? What if she is thinking that I am ignoring her??

I immediately called my P.A and asked for a new SIM and phone to be reached by me within two hours...

In the last two hours I talked to everybody and gave the good news but still, there was one person who was left and I was craving to call her.

Within 90 minutes, a brand new iPhone was delivered to me and the first thing I did was I dialed her number and waited patiently for her to answer.

The moment she answered her mellifluous voice made me numb. I zoned out completely, I was so lost that I didn't utter a single word for a few seconds and when I finally gathered the courage to say something all I was craving was to tell her to not stop.

I talked to her for almost half an hour and the moment we hang up there was an unknown emotion. Her voice was so calming that it made me forget everything and her habit of asking too many questions is something which I should get used to. The thought of meeting her tomorrow made me nervous but also very excited. And not to forget her last comment. She left me grinning from ear to ear and I was on cloud 9. Maybe she also wants to try this relationship and she seemed to be interested. Now I have to wait for the next 24 hours to see her in person. I knew it, this is gonna be a long day but the thought of meeting her worth every single minute. With this thought in my mind, I left for the airport.

If everything happens the way we want it to happen then there is no point in living a life. There will be no excitement and no mystery. Everything will be like an open book.

Kabir didn't know that but this day will turn out to be a game changer in both of their lives...

Almost around seven he reached home and got to know about Naina's mom condition. He wanted to comfort her, be with her so he called his mother...

"Mom I am coming to the hospital right now. Okay!." I said getting worried.

"There is no need beta. Naina's mom is fine and out of danger. If you want to come then its fine but do come only after having your dinner. I know you are tired. That is the only reason I didn't call you. You just came from Mumbai Kabir. Relax a bit then come. We are here, so don't worry." She said...

"Fine mom I will come after an hour. And will not skip my dinner. Okay." Saying this I disconnected the call and sighed. Can this day get any longer?

Suddenly it hit me, How is Naina dealing with all this? She must have been broken. Is she in the hospital? No matter where she is right now I have to meet her. I cannot wait any longer now! I thought after doing everything that mom instructed and left for the hospital...
