EPISODE 2: THE CLAIM
The pack hall was still tense. The air felt heavy. Aria tried to calm her fast heartbeat.
Damon stared at her. His eyes were dark with anger. His chest moved hard as he breathed.
“You think you can just leave?” he asked. His voice was low and dangerous.
Aria swallowed. Her mouth felt dry.
“I… I have to,” she said quietly.
The pack began to whisper. People stared at her. Some looked confused. Others looked pleased. It felt like they were waiting for her to break.
Before Damon could step closer, a calm voice filled the hall.
“She belongs to me now.”
Everything stopped.
Aria turned slowly.
Kael stood behind her, coming out of the shadows. He moved with purpose. His presence alone made the room feel smaller. Even the elders stayed silent.
“You—” Damon growled.
Kael lifted one hand.
Damon stopped.
Kael looked straight at him. His voice was quiet, but full of power.
“Try me.”
Aria felt something move inside her. Fear. Curiosity. Pull.
She didn’t understand it—but she felt drawn to him.
“You’ll stay with me,” Kael said. “No one will hurt you while I’m here.”
Damon clenched his fists.
“You don’t get to decide that!”
Aria’s thoughts spun. Part of her wanted to fight back. But another part of her—tired, broken, and alone—wanted safety. Wanted someone to stand for her.
Kael stepped closer. The room felt tight, like it was closing in. The pack watched in fear and awe. Even Damon looked unsure now.
Kael held out his hand.
“Come with me. Now.”
Aria hesitated.
Then she reached out and took his hand.
The moment they touched, warmth spread through her body. It felt like fire under her skin. Her breath caught.
Kael looked at her, his eyes dark and steady. She felt exposed—but safe.
“You’re safe,” he said softly. “Trust me.”
Damon shouted behind them, but Aria barely heard him. She focused on Kael’s hand holding hers.
“Don’t look back,” Kael said as he led her away. “Your old life is over.”
They stepped outside. Cold night air hit her face. Stars shone above. She breathed in deeply.
Behind them, Damon’s angry roars faded into the night.
Aria’s heart raced. Fear mixed with excitement. Something new was waking inside her.
She was no longer just the rejected girl.
She was claimed.
And this was only the beginning.
