Chapter 5

1108 Words
Ravena’s POV I stared at Sophia’s brother with recognition that I hoped for a moment I was hallucinating. But his presence is too powerful for me to think so. That magnetic presence I felt earlier is probably because he is a f*****g alpha. Oh and let’s not forget that he is The only surgeon in the entire pack that can do surgery on my sister’s spinal cord. Dammit!!! With that hatred burning inside his eyes making a hole on my forehead I know damn sure he is not going to help me whatsoever. And had it been I was the one with a spinal cord issue, I would have forever resigned my fate to that. I would never allow this man to work on me or even seeing him again. The emotions slowly cleared from his eyes as he stared at me like he never knew me. I like it like this. If we pretend the night before and this morning never happened it’ll be better. Sophia sat down on the chair and gestured for me to do so. I sat there nervously wringing my hands not knowing whether to be angry or scared. “I’ll be right back!” Sophia said as she leaped from the chair and rushed out the door probably to go see her boyfriend. I wanted to die on my chair when the door closed behind her leaving just the two of us. He busied himeelf on his computer while I forced myself to watch old photos on my phone. I don’t want to face him f**k! “I have a deal for you.” I heard his deep voice out of the blue and raise my head. His handsomeness took my breath away yet again cause how could someone be this good looking? Also smart to be a surgeon and f*****g alpha! Some people are just Moon goddess's favorite. I don’t say he was rich. “Deal?” I ask despite myself because why would an alpha want to have a deal? This must be serious but I checked the door hoping Sophia would walk in. “From everything I have read here about your sister Arwena, she has to undergo spinal cord surgery that has twenty percent chance of perfect recovery. Not many doctors would accept this but I’ll take the risk…” he trailed off as if to show me how hard it is for me to hear. “Also you won’t be able to afford this anywhere in the world which I’m sure you also know. The price is high and the risk is too much but I’m willing to take it” he continued adjusting his glasses with a forefinger. f*****g hot. “What’s the deal?” I asked impatiently but my voice sounded like a dying cat. He took his time standing up to round the table then lean on it so he was facing me. I hope he doesn’t see the way my pulse went wild by his presence. And his scent? Everything I should stay the f**k away from but crave. “You’ll sign a contract to become my Luna for a whole year. No one will know it is a deal. Not even Sophia.” He said looking all serious but I wanted to laugh. That’s so absurd and ridiculous. He wasn’t smiling and there is no humor on his face. He doesn’t look like someone to joke around either but this man must be high on something I don’t know for sure. “Luna?” I choked out “Yes. For one year so I get the Circle of Elders off my back about a mate. I’ll do your sister’s surgery and I’ll give you one hundred percent assurance that she will walk and shift again.” I watched him realizing he is actually serious about this whole thing. My heart was pounding so hard in my ears I almost fell off the chair but I forced myself to sit down there and listen. There is no other way around it even as I watch him like this. It’s either I accept or reject. It’s either I kill my sister or fulfill her long term dream. No in between this whole thing. “I don’t think this is tough Rave. He is an alpha and you’ll have influence for that one year. God knows you'd change many lives with it” my wolf murmured inside my head softly. “But this is all scary. You never know what these people want in the city.” “It is scary but you’re more than you realize.” She assured again the slowly retreated because she has been starved for a long time. She is right. If I become his Luna for that one year it would solve my entire problems. The top one being Arwena’s Christmas wish and all of our Debts will be settled. I don’t have to work manyy shifts to eat tasteless food. Men won’t have to grope me to give me tips. “I’ll sign the contract.” I told him swallowing loudly I’m sure he could see the fear all over me oozing. “Good. I’ll have your sister transferred here as soon as you sign them ans the surgery will be scheduled after she’s been examined.” He said all businesslike then stood up and lean close to me. “This doesn't mean you’re better than all the girls out there. I don’t like your type of girls around my sister so I’ll keep you close. You are nothing but a contracted Luna.” He murmured his breath fanning my face then stood “I never said I was anybody but I didn't beg you to be your luna.” I bite back not able to help myself “Your mate must be so lucky to have rejected you.” He scoffed as he turned away to call a number. He didn't see the pain and hurt in my eyes by him saying that. I felt somewhere in my chest burn from the rejection that is still hurting because I didn’t get to accept it when he went back to rutting his bimbo. Which reminds me “I won’t be sleeping with you.” I blurted out before o could stop myself “I don’t want to sleep with you village girl. Don’t forget you begged me with tears to f**k you.” His face looks disinterested. The man doesn’t even know emotions whatsoever. I know for sure I won’t be leaving this contract unscathed because I went and begged him to f**k me the next few hours.
