A few days had passed since the eventful discussion about my staying out late. I had lied to Derek, making him believe I was dancing with friends, when in fact I was dining with Travis, the Alpha King.
That night had played on my mind regularly since then. I had enjoyed Travis' company so much, not only from the view of being able to rid myself of Derek once and for all, but I genuinely enjoyed being around Travis for who he was as a person.
Travis was warm and kind, his heart was golden and I knew from the genuine sparkle in his eyes that he was someone I could trust. I knew a bond would form between us as we spent time together, and I would leave the Dark Kingdom with a great friend.
