There was a strange atmosphere in the car between us, and I could feel the anger seething from Travis. It was obvious why he was so mad, of course Derek had overstepped a mark, but I wanted the Alpha King to relax now.
"Are you okay?" I asked, trying to break the silence after noticing Travis tighten his fingers around the steering wheel. His jaw clenched tightly as his burning eyes focused on the road ahead "I'm fine, you know. Now I'm with you I'm safe at last,"
I wanted to reassure the King I wasn't going anywhere now I was under his watch.
Travis never removed his eyes from the road, but he didn't ignore me "I know," he said quietly "I just want to get you home where I know you're safe for sure. Out here, it's still unpredictable,"
