Chapter 14–Insulted

If I thought the outside view of the house was amazing, then the inside view was one to die for. If I was asked to describe this house in one word it would be 'paradise'. Immediately we enter into the main room where the party was going on, I can say that virtually all heads turned to look at us like we were the ones doing the celebration. The judging eyes and murderous glare almost all the young ladies were giving me made me completely nervous that I could feel beads of sweat gathering on my forehead despite several split conditioners that were in the room. I felt a warm familiar arm of Jade around me which gave me a little bit of confidence. Everyone is probably wondering who I am, trying to figure out which of the millionaire's daughter I am. Let me rephrase that considering the look of things and the aura which the room carried I think everyone is wondering which of the top billionaire's daughter I am. This is a disaster. I feel like running back home to the comfort of my bed. Jade introduced me to a lot of people and I cannot thank him enough because he did avoid the ladies when it came to the introduction aspect to avoid saucy comments.  He introduced me to his mother which turned out well and then he led me towards his father. There was this look on his face, one I was trying to decipher. He only confirmed my thoughts when we got to his father and his grip on my hand became tighter.  After greeting his father, he introduced me as his girlfriend. I was in total shock but that lasted for a split second. The next statement that came out of his father's mouth was all it took for the little confidence I had to shatter into a zillion pieces.  " The name 'Adeoye' doesn't ring a bell neither does it sound familiar. What is it your parents do for a living?" he questioned.  "Father I would not have you talk to my girlfriend like that except you want us to take our leave," Jade said in a whisper to avoid causing a scene. " "Do not speak to me in such a manner for a nobody. The girl has a mouth to reply. You are not her mouthpiece" Mr Brown said. It was at this point I wished for the ground to open up and swallow me. "Father I demand an apology for the lady immediately!" he said through gritted teeth. I starting to feel sick with the way things were going. Was it that obvious that I didn't belong to  Mr Brown smiled and strolled out as if that little scene did not just happen. I just had to beg Jade to let it go even if he wanted to drive us back home instantly but I had to tell him to consider his mum who initially invited him. I didn't want to be the cause of their fight because I know things will turn out very bad if that happens. Jade excused himself and promised he just wanted to have a little talk with his father. This I couldn't talk him out of because that was the only condition for staying back. There was this constant echo of the statement 'A nobody' in my head and I just couldn't help but feel that way about myself. It has been some minutes now and I still haven't seen Jade. I was starting to develop a migraine and I couldn't tell if it was the constant echo ringing in my head or the whole scene that was the major cause. I decided to go to the restroom to lock myself away from the world and to avoid any further confrontation.  On way coming back from the restroom, I see the lady from the mall that was claiming I rubbed dirt on her because my cloth touched hers and instantly, I wished the earth could just swallow me right now. Coming here was a mistake on my part. This whole sh*t and the deal was a mistake. I tried to hide from the woman because I honestly didn't want her to cause a scene but seeing today wasn't my lucky day, she saw me and dragged one of her friends along with her towards where I was standing. "Isn't it the girl from the mall? Kendra just imagine, Jade ended things with my daughter for this piece of trash " she said. I couldn't take it anymore. The insults, the looks that could kill and the obvious reaction of people about my relationship with Jade. All these shenanigans had to end right now. "Yes, that's me. The girl from the mall but the piece of trash you saw was not me. The only thing that is a piece of trash is your attitude and if Jade could leave your daughter for the so-called piece of trash then she must have been even more worthless. Enjoy the party and I go by the name Ella Adeoye. Let that sink for future references. Could you help me extend my greetings to your daughter? Tell her Jade's wife to be said hi." I walk out with my head high and mentally high five myself. The look on their faces was one I wish I could snap and hang it right in my living room so I could laugh every time I see it. I feel an arm wrap around my waist from the back and was about to react when the strong smell of his perfume hit my nose.  The talk with his father didn't go well because of the way he held on to me like I was about to slip out of his hand. "I am not going anywhere babe not even your father's opinion matters to me. I love you." Just immediately after I say those last words, my heart starts racing because I meant it and that was something that made me scared. This wasn't supposed to happen I wish I could put a knife through my heart. There is no way I would fall deeply in love with Jade and at one point not tell him our whole relationship was a business transaction and that scared me. "Angel, is everything okay?  I have been calling you repeatedly but you seem so quiet. You don't have to force it if you don't feel it. I'll be here till you feel it. I'll make you feel it. Let me introduce you the Zamora's and let's get out of this place and I hope you know I love you more. " We walk to where the Zamora's were standing and immediately they saw him coming, they excused themselves from the people they were talking to and walked towards us. "Good evening Mr Brown. Who is this gorgeous lady you have here ?" "This is my girlfriend, the love of my life Ella Adeoye." We shake hands and funny enough, this is still the best introduction that turned out well and we got along really fast. We talked about a lot of stuff and I enjoyed myself. After everything, we bid Jade's parents and business partners goodbye then head home. We get to my apartment and he quickly rushes down to my side of the door to open it for me. I notice the stress lines on his head so I invite him in to stay for the night. I go upstairs to change and bring down a new towel and one of my very large t-shirts for him. I cook a mouth-watering dinner while he freshens up. What I didn't expect was to see him stroll out in just boxers and a towel around his neck which just left me feeling some type of way.  "Can't seem to find any toothpaste in the bathroom. Could I make use of yours?" He said.  "Sure." Well, this dinner can wait. We have a lot of rolling in between the sheets business to conclude.
