Margaret's POV:
"Son can you put yourself together, please. You are a man for Godsake. You may have said some hurtful things out of anger or probably due to fear but that's okay because people are bound to make mistakes."
"Mother that's not okay. You should have seen the way she looked at me with resentment and disgust. I love her, I can't lose her."
"Did you just say you love her?
Son you are going to make things very difficult. Just leave everything to me you'll have the girl and your baby back in no time."
Jade is a very emotional type of person. Even if he tries to hide that aspect of himself from the world, he doesn't remember to also hide it when he is with people who are very close to him.
Just remembering the scene when Ella fainted, the expression on his face was one that looked like his whole world had just crumbled. If his father hadn't calmed him down while he was at the hospital he would have caused a scene that would have been bad for the company's name.
This whole thing scares me so much. He can't find out. I don't want to lose my son. 'So you didn't think about the grievous consequences before you dabbled into such deal for your selfish reasons' my inner man said. I did all these majorly for his benefit. He has been able to win over the Zamoras and now all he needs to conclude the deal is a marriage certificate.
Finally, I have a grandchild to call mine. This calls for a celebration. She must have forgotten she signed some papers and we had a deal. The whole hospital display better is a pregnancy tantrum thing. No one messes with me and most especially my son. I better visit her with the documents she signed or maybe a word of mouth will be better.
Just before I forget, I call the priest and book their wedding arrangement. I would not have my family's name dragged in the mud. Only marriage will put an end to any scandal the paparazzi would try to dig out.
I call one of my security agent to find out the details of the hospital while I get dressed. I dress in such a way that the press wouldn't be able to recognise me. A few minutes later we arrive at the hospital. I grab my bag and the basket of fruit I got from the mall on my way here and head into the hospital.
She was sleeping peacefully in one of the rooms of the hospitals VIP ward. Just seeing her sleeping with all those drips connected to her hand suddenly made me picture myself in her shoes what it would have felt like. We'll just have a little chit chat that's all. Judging from the look of things, she looks like she has been through a lot.
I could already picture how my granddaughter would look like. Ella is a very beautiful lady and Jade is a very handsome man so definitely the baby will be a very beautiful girl.
Yes, I want a girl. I want to know how it feels like to take care of a girl child. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I am not happy that I had Jade I wouldn't have asked for anything else.
"If you are here to remind me about the contract, I haven't forgotten." She said
"My child I am not here for that. I came to check up on you and to also talk about what happened between you and my son. "
"If he is not man enough to come and apologize then whatever you have to say on his behalf will turn on deaf ears. I know the news scared him but it never warranted all those hurtful things he said to me. He was implying that I had been sleeping around with people. God, I love, respect and trust him he should do the same to me."
Did she just say she loves him? Ok, now I think by the expression on her face, she just realized the gravity of what she said.
"That's not what I mean... I mean I love and respect this contract. Arghhh ok, Mrs Margaret I think it's one of the drugs I was given that is making me say a lot of stupid things because I would never say things like this in my normal state. I would love to take my rest and calm down. How about we have this conversation another time."
"Good to know it must have been the drugs responsible for whatever you just said because we know you are in this for the fame and the money."
The sentence " I love him" had been echoing in my head for an hour now. I couldn't even close my eyes and sleep without the sentence replaying. It's like a song on repeat.
This is not how I planned this whole thing. Both of them are deeply in love with each other. What exactly can I do?
This whole thing is messed up.
I roll out of bed gently so I don't wake David up while I head downstairs for a glass of champagne from the bar to ease the stress building up.
This isn't how this whole thing was supposed to turn out.
"You did all these things for your selfish reasons and you of all people should be the last person to judge that girl. Let's not forget how David picked you up and turned you into what you are today ." My inner man says. At least I wasn't paid. I loved him and I still do. I say to ease the guilt that was gradually building up.
The wine was not helping matters at all. I turn the remaining content in the glass into the sink and rinse it off.
What If I just cancel this whole contract of a thing and act like it never happened.
Enough of this whole thing. How about I think of a name for my grandchild. Mira or Arianna will do just fine.
I'll confirm the child's gender from the doctor first thing tomorrow morning after the ultrasound appointment.
Everything is left to Jade. If he wants to keep the girl fine. Any action I'll be taking next will be determined by his opinion of things. Under that facade of toughness in the office and public, he has a soft side in him.
The sound of footsteps coming from upstairs got my attention. David was a light sleeper how could it skip my mind. I had taken too long downstairs.
"Honey are you okay? You have been out of bed for quite a while now. What's bordering you? "
"Just a headache I'll be fine sorry for waking you up. Let's head back to bed. "
All I have to do is sweet-talk Jade into marrying Ella as soon as possible.
