ALMOST CAUGHT “Kathy.” Nanny Jenna called again, walking hastily as her footsteps made several noises. “I can hear someone calling __” “Oh yeah, it should be my date.” Kathy lied and stood up, walking briskly away while Carlson watched with a smile covering his face. “Your date really sounds like an old lady.” He yelled after her, but she was halfway to the house already. She could barely hear. Kathy thanked her stars for walking away from Carlson before her nanny could get to her. According to the plan she had with her brothers, if anyone asked who she was, she'd just pretend to be a friend of theirs. “You scream a lot nanny, what's the issue?” She asked, sighing loudly. “Suddenly your brothers couldn't find you, so I had to do the search on my own.” Kathy gasped. Her mouth opened and closed but no sound came out. “I'm so pissed off right now, can we just go in?” She asked, walking into the booming party. Kyle stood at the podium talking, but it wasn't of interest to her. “Where were you?” She heard a whisper behind her, and she needed no one to tell her it was Kelvin. “You seem to enjoy sneaking up on me, it should be your hobby.” She said sarcastically, still angry about her ruined chat with Hayden. “And you seem to enjoy not being seen for a while.” “You should be happy I'm trying not to be seen.” She stated, taking a long swig from her wine. “I should thank you?” His voice went an octave high, pulling the attention of the crowd as Kelly walked over to them. “It's time you retired to your bedroom.” He whispered in her ear. She placed the glass of wine and rolled her eyes at Kelvin. “You suck.” As she walked with Kelly out of the house, two guards walked slowly behind them. They were really vigilant when it came to their sister. “Kelvin is becoming unbearable.” “He's still your big brother.” She chuckled and wrapped her arms around Kelly's waist, looking into his eyes. “Do you really have to go back to the Navy? It's so boring at home, can i come along?” “You know you can't come along, it's strictly for officers and in no time I'll be free to come more often.” They got to the stairs leading directly to the lobby of their bedrooms. “You should go in and have your rest.” “Thanks, I'm glad you're nothing like Kelvin” she said, and they both chuckled. Immediately the party was over, Carlson left the house with a sinking feeling. He'd been hoping to see Kathy and talk to her again. He found her fascinating, and he couldn't deny the pull, the attraction he had towards her. His phone rang and immediately he picked it up. “Mom, you called five hours ago.” He said, taking off his jacket and walking to the balcony. “Remember what we spoke about? Your inheritance, if you don't make a smart move, your cousin Houston is going to make the move and the companies will be under his lineage.” “You have to stay calm mom, I know what I'm doing and trust me, I found a girl I'm quite attracted to, you'll love her.” He ended the call and walked back into his room to have a good night's rest. * * The next morning, as soon as Kathy woke up, she took her phone and dialed Carlson's number, she was so excited about meeting him again. “Hi, who's this?” She heard him ask as she giggled. “You sound so sexy over the phone.” She whispered, walking over to the window. “Oh Kathy, I was beginning to wonder if you weren't going to call,” he said as she smiled. “Of course I would. Can we see today ? Or are you busy?” She asked, and it became quiet on his end for a while before he spoke again. “I'm not. We should meet up, but I have a lot going on for me.” “Things like?” She asked, wanting to know more about the guy she had grown to have these tingling feelings for. “We should talk when we see, not now.” The call ended and Kathy walked out of her bedroom for breakfast. “Good morning nanny Jenna, where are the three musketeers?” She asked, filling her glass with some orange juice before walking over to the dining room. “They left for work quite early and Mr Kelly went to the gym.” She replied, standing behind Kathy as she ate her breakfast. “What do you think about love at first sight?” “Are you in love?” Her nanny quickly asked, taking the seat opposite hers. “Chill, it's just a question, nothing else.” She replied, but the look on her nanny's face told her all she needed to know. “You're not convinced?” She asked. “Okay, so i met this handsome guy, and he's so attractive. Well, I got attracted to him and i think I might fall in love with him.” “You met him at the party. Does he know who you are?” She asked. “Hell, no. He doesn't, and I'm still trying to know what he's like before telling him who i really am.” “Be very careful with guys, that's an advice. Be careful.” she chuckled and stood on her feet. “I've had my full, I should freshen up and head out now. As soon as she got to her bedroom, a text popped into her phone, it was Carlson's address. “Hotel?” She muttered in question but brushed it off because she'd be meeting with him, and he'd answer the question she had. “Thanks mister.” She said to the cab driver before paying and getting out of the cab. No one knows who the heiress of the Bridgestone enterprise is. She walked into the glamorous hotel with his room number in mind. As she got to the door, she began to hear voices. “Once i have her in my grip, I'll be back to France in a jiffy.” She heard Carlson say. “I love you.” Kathy gasped, her palm going to her mouth as she covered it.
