Chapter Twelve

~ Interpretation ~

Day Six

Just as I ended the call, there was a knock on my door, and I was greeted by the concerned faces of my friends, Violet, Lief, and Summer. They settled on my bed, their expressions filled with a mixture of worry and affection.

Summer was the first to speak, her voice gentle. “Are you feeling better?”

I couldn’t help but smile at their genuine concern. “I’m lucky to have friends like you,” I said, my voice filled with gratitude. “Last night was… overwhelming. I’m still trying to make sense of it all.”

Lief nodded in understanding. “It’s a lot to take in, but remember, we’re in this together.”

“Yeah, I know. My dad said pretty much the same thing. We talked and i feel much better after it.”

I felt a wave of warmth and gracefulness wash over me. These friends had been with me through thick and thin, and their unwavering support meant the world to me.

“You guys don't need to worry about anything.”

“That's good to hear.”

“I'm glad,” Lief beamed.

But then, I couldn’t resist a teasing question. “So, have any of you found your mates yet?”

Summer blushed furiously, her embarrassment evident. “Well, you see….”

I couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction. “Spill the beans, Summer!”

As Summer hesitated, her blush deepening, Lief and Violet exchanged amused glances. It was clear that there was a story here, and they were eager to hear it.

Violet, always the one to break the tension, nudged Summer playfully. “Come on, spill the beans, Summer. We won’t judge.”

Summer sighed, her eyes still cast downward, and she began to speak in a hushed voice, as if sharing a secret. “Well, last night, I was dancing with this charming sorcerer. He had the most enchanting smile, and we were getting along really well. But then, in the middle of the dance, he suddenly disappeared!”

My eyes widened in surprise, and I exchanged incredulous glances with my friends. “Disappeared? Like, poof, gone?”

Summer nodded, her embarrassment giving way to a mixture of frustration and amusement. “Exactly! One moment, he was there, and the next, he was gone without a trace. It was like he vanished into thin air.”

Lief couldn’t help but chuckle. “Sounds like some advanced sorcery. Perhaps he was just showing off.”

Violet chimed in with a mischievous grin. “Or maybe he’s a master of the dramatic exit.”

Summer rolled her eyes, but a small smile played on her lips. “Well, whatever the reason, it was definitely… memorable.”

We burst into laughter at the absurdity of the situation. It was moments like these, filled with shared laughter and lightheartedness, that reminded me of the strength of our friendship.

our laughter subsided, Violet couldn’t resist a teasing remark. “So, Ri, how about you? Any interesting developments with your handsome suitors?”

“Yeah, have you talked to any of them,” Summer chimed in.

I sighed, feeling a mixture of uncertainty and longing. “No…I haven't. I don't know how to go about it. I’m still trying to figure everything out.”

“You should. Leaving it to fester will only complicate things further," Lief siad.

“Yeah, I know. its just…'' I trailed off biting my lips nervously, thinking back to the dream. The four path things constantly on my mind and what it may ensue.

“Come on tell us,” Summer said.

“I don't know. I don't want to burden you with this.”

Violet gave me a stern look, “we said we were here for you did we not. Do you not trust us?”

“No, that's not it. I definitely trust you guys, probably more than I trust myself.”

“Good, then tell us. We’re all ears,” violet said, waiting expectantly.

“Remember the dream I told you guys about.” They nodded their heads expectantly. “Well…something that is constantly playing in my mind… ”

“Yeah, what about it? We know you have two mates. That much is clear," Summer replied, a smug smile tugging at her lips.

“That's the problem.”

“What do you mean? Do you think there's more to the dream," Violet asked.

“Maybe, I'm not entirely sure. It's a possibility.”

“You said there's something that keeps playing in h=your head, could you relay them to me,” Lief asked, looking deep in thought.

“Sure.”

‘‘Four paths converge, intertwining destinies. The bonds of your heart are not bound by the constraints of tradition or expectation.’’

“What do you think it means,” Violet asked, once i was done. I shrugged. “Im not intrally sure, make something to do with my mates and the diffrent path each one of them could lead me to depending on the choices i make.”

“But dont you only have two mates,” summer replied, confusion etch on her face.

“Could it mean something else,” iolet said.

“I don't think so. Maybe,"I shrugged as confused. We settled into a comfortable silence mulling it over.

“That's it,” Lief’s eyes widened in realisation, “there’s more of them.”

“More of what.”

“You have more mates, Ri. Four to be exact. Meaning you'll encounter two more.” I wasn't surprised lief was the one to figure it out, he was the smarter one in the group.

“Huh, that makes sense. Why didn't I think of it? " It seems obvious now.

“Wait, hold up,” Summer injected. “Let me get this straight. Are you saying that Ri hase more than two mates.”

“Yup, pretty much.”

Their eyes widened in surprise. “Oh My Magic,” they exclaimed in unison. I stared at them weirdly. It’s kinda creepy when they do that. “Can you stop that.”

“Stop what” they say again in unison. “That!! I exclaimed. “Talking at the same time, it's weird.”

“Sorry, it's not intentional.” they giggled.

“Now back to the matter at hand,” Violet says

I groaned, I had hoped they would have forgotten about it. “I don't want to talk about it.”

“Why not,” Summer pushed. “Because all these talks about prophecy destiny mates. it's making my head hurt.”

“Fine then, be like that,” summer huffed.

“Remember, you don’t have to rush into anything. Take your time, and trust your heart,” Lief added.

“You sound like my dad, old man” I chuckled. ““i’ll take it as a compliment. your dad knows stuff. Too bad we can't say the same for you,” he said cheekily. “Hey! That's not true. I know things,"I huffed in mock annoyance.

“If you say so.”

“I do,” gently punching him on the shoulder.

Summer agreement. “Anyway, Lief is right. Also we’re here for you, no matter what.”

Their words filled me with a sense of gratitude and reassurance. My friends had a way of putting things into perspective, and I knew that as we faced the challenges of this new reality together, our bond would only grow stronger.

We continued to chat and share stories. I couldn’t help but feel a deep appreciation for the friends who had stood by my side through thick and thin. Whatever lay ahead, I knew that with their support, I could face it with courage and determination. I had a feeling that the journey of discovering my mates was far from over, and the path ahead was filled with twists and turns. But as I looked at my friends, their smiles radiating with happiness, a comfort to my conflicting heart.
