~ Dreams, Worries and Pastries ~
Day Four
I stepped into my room, the memory of Kieran's captivating presence still vivid in my mind, akin to a haunting melody that refused to fade. The moonlight, a gentle accomplice, filtered through my curtains, casting ethereal patterns across the wooden floor. Closing the door behind me, I sank to the floor, my back seeking solace against the cool wood. A heavy sigh escaped my lips, bearing the weight of the evening's emotional whirlwind.
Beyond the closed door, muffled chatter of celebrating the night's festivities drifted into my room, a stark contrast to the inner turmoil that gripped me. I found myself entangled in a web of emotions, torn between the enigmatic allure of Lucian and the comforting embrace of Kieran. Their faces and words played like vivid scenes in my mind, etching themselves into the canvas of my memory.
With a shaky hand, I approached the window, its frame cool to the touch. Opening it, I invited the night air to weave its way into my room. Below, the garden lay in serene silence, the echoes of laughter fading into the distance. The fragrance of blooming flowers mingled with the gentle rustle of leaves, creating an atmosphere of calmness that contradicted the storm inside me.
Closing my eyes, I allowed the night air to caress my face, seeking clarity in the whispers of the wind. Something within me whispered that Kieran might be my mate. The feelings rushing through me were too potent to be mere infatuation—a crush or fleeting affection. The uncertainty gnawed at my mind, causing a dull ache.
"This is too much," I muttered to myself. Mulling over the possibilities only intensified the headache and haziness. With a heavy sigh, I made my way to the ensuite, focusing on the nightly routine to distract myself. The possibilities weighed on my mind: Could it really be possible for me to have two mates?
Contemplating the choices that lay ahead, the moon cast its benevolent gaze upon me, offering no clear answers but illuminating the path with a silver glow. With a deep breath, I climbed into bed, allowing the night to envelop me. The stillness of the night became a comforting companion, embracing me as I sought solace in the unknown possibilities that awaited in the tangled web of love and destiny.
The air hummed with magic, the colours around me shifting ina a kaleidoscope; bathed in soft, iridescent hues. The air carried a soothing melody, and the surroundings seemed to pulse with energy. I walked through a meadow adorned with Moonlit Lilies, their petals releasing a gentle glow that illuminated the path.
“Feriae,” a gentle yet powerful voice, echoed through the air. It's been a long time since anyone has called me by my given name. It was strange hearing and being addressed using my given name.
“Listen for the threads of fate. weave a tale only your heart can decipher.” her words echoed in the air, it seemed to bounce off each other, an invisible force that could not be seen.
A voice, ethereal and gentle, whispered in the breeze. "Ri," it called, again. “Follow.” I followed the melodic resonance, drawn toward a radiant figure standing beneath the boughs of an ancient tree. The tree was shrouded in an unusual blue mist. The mist seemed to dance around the base of the tree, enchanting, forming. I peered closer. Is that a figure? As if it heard me, the mist takes form.
A mysterious figure gradually emerges from the mist , revealing itself to be a luminous being, its features shifting between familiar and otherworldly.
"Who are you?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper in the dreamlike landscape. The form appears more solid as it settles into its form.
I gazed at the figure, captivated by the luminescent auro surrounding them.
The luminous being smiled, a warmth emanating from its presence. "I am the spirit of the Unity Tree, the ancient guardian of Eldoria's connections. Your heart is entwined in a unique dance, one that transcends the conventional bonds."
Confusion clouded my dream-state mind. "What do you mean? Lucian and Kieran—"
"Destiny is a tapestry woven with threads of choice and fate," the spirit interjected, its words a gentle melody. "The path ahead is uncertain, but your heart carries the wisdom to navigate the intricate dance of love."
Images flickered around us, scenes of moments with both Lucian and Kieran. Each image held a resonance, a reflection of the emotions intertwined in the journey. The spirit continued, "The heart is boundless, capable of forging connections beyond the expected. Embrace the uniqueness of your bonds, for in its complexity, lies the essence of true magic."
“The choice before you are like ripples in the cosmic pond,” the voice continued, the words carrying weight to it. “Four paths converge, intertwining destinies. The bonds of your heart are not bound by the constraints of tradition or expectation.”
The luminous figure faded, leaving me standing alone in the meadow. The Moonlit Lilies pulsed with a serene glow, their petals whispering a talk off unknown. A gentle breeze caressed my skin, the tree slowly dissolving, leaving me back in the void. The words lingered in my mind, its parting words echoing in the emptiness. “Trust your heart. The dance of destiny awaits your decisions.”
The luminous figure faded, leaving me standing alone in the meadow. The Moonlit Lilies pulsed with a serene glow, their petals whispering a talk off unknown. A gentle breeze caressed my skin, the tree slowly dissolving, leaving me back in the void.
I woke with a start, the dream's tendrils lingering like fragile threads in the recesses of my consciousness. The room, bathed in the gentle glow of dawn, offered no answers, only the quiet ambiance of a new day.
I lay there, contemplating the cryptic message, mulling it over and over again in my mind. What did the dream mean? Were these paths representing the choices between Lucian and Kieran, or was there something more I'm unaware about? What could it mean? And what did the voice mean by ‘Four paths converge, intertwining destinies. The bonds of your heart are not bound by the constraints of tradition or expectation.’
* * *
"Four paths," the voice had said, a cryptic reference that added a layer of complexity to the choices before me. Why four paths when it seemed, at least on the surface, that my heart was torn between Lucian and Kieran?
My confusion deepened, the weight of the unknown settling upon me like a heavy cloak. The dance of destiny, as the voice had called it, felt like a labyrinth with hidden twists and turns. I questioned the nature of the paths and the reasons behind their number.
Lost in my contemplation, a soft knock at the door jolted me from the depths of my turmoil. With aching limbs, I trudged towards the door, ready to confront whoever had disrupted my uneasy reverie. I wasn’t in the mood right now. The dream had put me in a somewhat sour mood. And I just wanted to be left alone with my thoughts.
I swung the door open, about ro voice my annoyance, not expecting to find my friends behind the door. "Oh, it's just you guys," I said, my tone a mix of relief and mild annoyance, downplaying the significance of the state I was in. The weight of my thoughts is crushing.
“Sorry, Ri. We didn't mean to interrupt,"Summer quipped, her tone light laced with genuine concern.
"No, just contemplating the mysteries of the universe, you know, the usual morning routine," my tone was sarcastic. It’s not like me to behave in such a manner. Sensing this violet asked, “is everything alright,” her concern evident in the furrow of her brow. I must look truly awful for me to prompt concern from her.
“Gee thanks for the compliments,'' I replied sarcastically in an attempt toi brush off their concern.
“Sorry,” Summer replied sheepishly. “No, you're right,” I sigh. I motioned for them to come in, making my way back to the bed, burning my face in the pillows.
“What are you guys doing here.” my voice slightly muffled by the pillows, betrayed the exhaustion and confusion that weighed on me.
Lief exchanged glances with Violet and Summer. "What?" I asked, my curiosity piqued by their shared glances.
"We haven't seen you in a bit," Violet expressed, her voice laced with concern. "You didn't come down for breakfast," Lief added. I lifted my head enough to peek at the clock, displaying the time: 13:08.
"Oh," I replied, burying my head into the pillow once more. "We were worried," Summer finished, their worry palpable in the room.
"It's complicated," I muttered, the weight of my thoughts pressing on me.
My bed dipped as my friends gathered around. "We're here to listen. Whatever it is," Summer whispered, her voice a comforting balm.
I sat up, knees to my chest and a pillow between us, feeling a sense of warmth in their presence. "Also, we come bearing breakfast. The cure for all existential crises," Lief proclaimed, holding up a tray of pastries and fruits.
A smile tugged at my lips, appreciating their attempt to lighten the atmosphere. Perhaps a dose of laughter and shared moments with friends was the remedy I needed. And maybe, just maybe, confiding in them could help ease my worries about what lay ahead.

I sighed. “I don’t know what to do. How can I have feelings for both of them? It’s so complicated.”
I reconted yesturday encounter with the sorcere and how i suspected he may be my mate. Last nights dream, the message; everything. I spilled everything out. And it felt good, to talk to someone, even if they had no solutions, the fact they listened. Not a single person interrupted as I babbled like a fool. Surrounded by the comforting embrace and support of my friend the heaviness on my heart eased.
“You know, it’s okay not to have all the answers tonight. Love is complex, and emotions are like shifting sands beneath our feet,” Violet added, her voice carrying a wisdom beyond her years.
I managed a watery laugh. “When did you become so philosophical, Violet?”
She chuckled. “I have my moments.”
Lief chimed in, mirroring their sentiment. “We’re here for you, Ri. Your heart knows its path, and we’ll walk it with you.”
Summer’s touch on my arm was warm and comforting, grounding me in the present. “Take your time. Love is a puzzle, and sometimes, we need to explore its pieces before they fall into place.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle at Violet’s response. “Yeah right, if you say so.”
Violet smiled. “Jokes aside, we’re here for you.”
“Thank you, again,” I said, my voice filled with gratitude. “That’s what friends are for.”
Their support was a lifeline in the midst of my turbulent emotions. As I expressed my thanks, I added, “Thank you, guys. I appreciate it, but I need some space to think. Having all of you here, understanding and supporting me, means more than words can express.”
