Babysitting The Kings Daughter

3.Hazel

It has been 7 days, a whole week since little Daisy has been staying with us and today just feels so different out of all days.

To be honest, I’ve never felt so happy caring for a little kid as I felt when doing everything for her.

She’s so cute when she smiles and she eats a lot, my brother has told me several times to take her to the cops to take charge and find her parents but she keeps asking me not to do that and that she likes to stay with me and I also don’t want to leave her.

“Hazel?”

“Hazel?” I jumped up from where I sat on the couch when I heard my brother calling for me.

Thank goodness she was asleep, she’d have gotten up to tag along with me and my brother would end up not saying anything because she understands almost everything.

“Kai, you called for me?” I said, scratching my hair, I didn’t wash it for days.

“Yes and this isn’t a laughing matter, I’m taking that girl to the cops today and there’s nothing you can do about it!” He stated, his brows furrowed in anger.

“Let…” I paused, unsure of what to say.

“She doesn’t want to leave and we can just let her stay with us until we’ve found her parents and…”

“Do you think you’re making any sense right now?, Hm?” He half yelled, I had to take two steps to the back.

“This is illegal, if her parents should find her with us, we’ll be arrested for k********g and there’ll be no witness and I’m a doctor, I cannot risk the job I worked 8 good years to earn for her!” He explained.

“I know and can you just give me until tonight?, I’ll think about it please” I begged, my voice pale.

“Oh okay, I’m serious!” He countered again. “Decide or I’ll take her to the cops tomorrow morning!”

He groaned loudly as he brushed past me on his way out, I rush to get him his car key that he might have forgotten but then we suddenly heard a loud bang on the door.

“Why do people lack so much manner? is that how to knock on the door?” Kai growled as he walked towards it to check who was there.

I suddenly felt cold shivers run down my spine when the banging didn’t stop until he opened the door.

“What!” Kai shrieked in disbelief as built-bodied men barged into our house and pointed a gun at his head.

My eyes squint as I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing, it felt as if I was in a dream.

“Excuse me, who are you people and why would you barge into my house to point a gun in my head?” Kai stood up to them, caring less about the gun in their hands.

“We’re from the Royal palace and information reached us that you have the princess here, The King has ordered us to shoot if you fail to cooperate!”

“Search the whole house!”

It was at this point that I knew the mistake I have made, all this time daisy talked about the palace and how beautiful it was, which I believed was just her childish fantasy.

It was real,

Daisy is the princess they’re looking for.

I’m doomed!

Kai was quiet after they said that, he must have come to a realization too.

I compressed my lips with my gaze fixed on my brother, he looked at me for a moment with that unsaid conversation.

“See what you caused?” His stares felt like that.

Before they find her in my bedroom, I should talk, I didn’t kidnap her, I saved her.

They should know that.

“I need to say something!” I let out, the men who were still with us stopped everything they were doing.

“Hazel!” Kai yelled, now he’s making it look like we did something wrong.

“I found her, I didn’t kidnap her or…” I was unable to finish my statement before these two men grabbed my arms and pushed me against the wall.

“Don’t touch my sister in that manner, don’t f*****g touch her!” Kai screamed as they forced the cuffs into my wrist.

“Arrest him too!” They ordered, my body stiffened at once.

Immediately after they’ve cuffed our hands, Daisy was brought out of my bedroom and she was still sleeping.

I forgot to tell, she was a very deep sleeper.

“She’s trying to tell you what happened?, I’m a doctor for god sake, we didn’t kidnap her!” Kai tries to tell them but they weren’t ready to listen as they push us out of our house to the black van they brought.

From the 4 cars and van parked In front of our place, I could tell they were from the palace.

“Kai, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” I was on the verge of tears as I begged him.

Had I listened to him when he warned me, this wouldn’t have happened.

His silence said a lot, he didn’t reply nor show me any reactions.

In no time, they started the car.

I couldn’t even see what the outside looks like because of the position I sat in the car and I was in pain, the cuffs on my wrist weren’t helping my situation.

“Your Royal Highness!” For some reason, I felt scared, my heart raced so fast and it looks as though I was guilty when all I did was save her from the hands of those bad men.

“Did you find my daughter? did you find my princess?” That voice, sensual and sweet, is the king’s voice.

I’m in a messy situation yet I’m drooling over a voice?

“Yes, My King, we found the princess and…” and this is where it starts.

“And her abductors are in the car, they are not admitting to k********g the princess” I felt like rushing down to explain myself.

“Take my daughter to my quarters!” The voice suddenly turned cold and harsh.

“Yes, My King”

“I want to see them, Now!” He roared.

The car door slides open and I was dragged out of the car with my brother who was just so quiet and dumb.

Although I’ve heard various talks that you don’t stare directly into the king's eyes but the minute we were pushed to where he was, I find myself staring at that eyes.

His hair, nose, his facial features stands out and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man as handsome and hot as him in my whole life.

I could spend my whole life staring at his lips, his chiseled jaw, and his perfectly carved eyes.

Damn his eyes balls, hazel colored eyes like my name.

I couldn’t stop myself from staring at his Adam apple that I find myself gulping hard, my stomach wriggling at the thought of me touching him.

Oh my goodness!

What was I thinking???

“You dared to kidn*pped my daughter??” He yelled, I immediately jerked out of my trance.

“I didn’t kidnap her, I…

“I do not want to hear anything from them, lock them up, all I want right now is to stay with my daughter and I’ll decide what to do with them later!” He said as he turned away.

My brother was still quiet and I think I’ll have to do something.

I fell to my knees, my face scrunched because of the pain.

“Your Highness, please hear us out, even if you’ll lock us up, lock just me because I’m the only one who is in this, my brother needs to go to work!” I rasped impatiently.

“I didn’t kidnap Daisy, I found her, I did not kidnap her!”

“How dare you call the princess by her name?” He ran over to where I was and grabbed my neck!

“Argh!” I shrieked, struggling for air as his fingers harmed my neck.

“I’m not sure if you’ll be able to live to tell the rest of your bullshits so just shut up or you’ll be shut up forever!” I just had the first threat attack in my life.

Hot tears streamed down my cheeks and I bet my whole face has reddened from his forceful grip.

We were soon dragged away.

“Stop crying,” Kai said to me as they pushed us inside the iron rods designed room.

“I can’t... I caused this and…” I let out, panting and crying at the same time.

“You have to, we have our CCTV footage at home and at the hospital where you told me about her, we’ll just show them when the king is more settled. We’ll be fine” he explained, I just nodded my head.

I expected him to be fuming at me but now I know all his silence wasn’t just because he was shocked but he was busy thinking of how we could get out of the mess I created.

“Hazel?” I jerked up at once, my eyes widened to see the guards with fierce expressions standing with us.

How could I sleep in this situation?

“The King asks us to bring you” announced the guard who proceeded to pull me up.

Why me?

And not us?

“We came here together, you cannot take my sister away!” Kai stood up for me.

“The King has asked for just her, if you have a problem with that, then keep having it!” He yelled and almost kicked him in his stomach but I was quick to rush in front of him.

“I’ll come with you, I’ll come!” I said, nodding my head.

It was more like walking to my pit of death as I stand in the center of 6 guards who ushered me down the hall, I didn’t even have the time to stare or explore the palace but it was quite more exquisite and extravagant than imagined a palace to be.

I hope my kindness doesn’t lead me to my early grave when I’ve only spent 1 week here, I’m regretting saving her already.

We kept walking for what seemed like forever until we finally got to the front door which was heavily guarded by men in uniforms.

“Your Royal Highness”

“Let her in” I heard it again, that same voice.

They pushed me towards the door and I was barely dragging my feet to walk.

“Hazelllll!” I was busy trying to figure out who but then I saw Daisy running down into my embrace.

“Princess, Stop!” He halted her to stop and I didn’t understand what was going on.

“What did I tell you not to do?” He asked.

“That a princess should not run but walk elegantly” she muttered with her tiny voice.

“That’s good!” He smiled happily.

“Now walk like a princess,” I said to her, she nodded her head and began to take slow steps toward me.

I couldn’t even carry her like I always do back at our place because of the cuffs on my wrist.

“My daughter has told me about you and I know you didn’t abduct her, I had to…”

“Now you know!!, why didn’t you hear me out when I begged!” I screamed at him.
