Chapter 3

As the dragon soared through the sky, Taby Sam felt the exhilarating rush of wind against her face, a stark contrast to the fear that had gripped her moments before. Below, the misty woods faded into a blur of green, the dark figures now mere shadows of a past threat. "We did it, Bluy!" she shouted over the roaring wind, her heart pounding with triumph. The dragon's powerful wings beat steadily, and she could feel its strength beneath her, a living embodiment of their shared courage. Taby glanced back at Bluy, who clung tightly to the dragon's scales, his eyes wide with wonder and a newfound determination. Bluy's breath came in quick gasps as he processed their narrow escape. "I never thought I could do something like that!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with excitement. "Did you see how we fought them off? I actually used magic!" A smile broke across his face, illuminating the fear that had once clouded his spirit. The dragon let out a triumphant roar, as if celebrating their victory alongside them. Taby felt a swell of pride for her friend; they had faced darkness together and emerged stronger, their bond deepening with each challenge. Yet, as they flew higher into the sky, Taby couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just the beginning. "We need to strategize," she said, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. "Those dark figures won’t stop chasing us. We have to be ready for whatever comes next." Bluy nodded, his expression shifting to one of seriousness. "Right. We should find a safe place to land and regroup." The dragon, sensing their urgency, banked sharply to the left, gliding toward a distant mountain range that loomed majestically against the horizon. As they approached, the landscape transformed into a breathtaking panorama of towering peaks and lush valleys. The air grew crisp, carrying the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers and the melodic songs of birds flitting through the trees below. Taby felt her heart lift at the sight. "Look at that valley!" she pointed, her voice filled with awe. "It’s beautiful!" The dragon descended gracefully, its massive wings casting shadows over the vibrant greens and yellows of the valley floor. They landed softly in a clearing surrounded by fragrant blossoms, the beauty of their surroundings a stark contrast to the darkness they had just escaped. Once on solid ground, Taby and Bluy dismounted, taking a moment to breathe in the serene atmosphere. "This place feels... safe," Bluy said, his voice filled with wonder as he knelt to examine a cluster of bright blue flowers. Taby smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over her. "We can train here," she suggested, her mind racing with possibilities. "The dragon can help us harness our powers." Bluy looked up, excitement sparking in his eyes. "And we can prepare for the next attack." Taby nodded, her resolve solidifying. They would not only defend themselves but also learn to wield their newfound abilities. Together, they would face whatever darkness lay ahead, their spirits emboldened by the beauty around them.
