Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER XXI OCTOBER   “Take them away!” the captain reprimanded them. The subordinates of the captain immediately obeyed him and began to move closer to them, mercilessly yanking Mary Jane away from Blanche until a voice boomed and it stops them. “No!” Marga steps up to the scene. And all of the nuns and ministers on the scene were astounded by her sudden appearance. “Sister Marga!” Cosmos gasped from her unexpected presence. But his shock it all escalated quickly in to anger, “what do you mean by no? They have killed the high priest.”  But Marga just walk passed him, and told the wizards, “Let her go.” The wizards look at their captain before he gave them a nod that signalize them to do what she said, thus they let go of Mary Jane. “What is the meaning of this?” Cosmos inquires with his brows knitted in confusion. “Just what it literally means,” she mumbled looking from her shoulder before holding her gaze back to the two nuns and trod towards them. Marga looks at them from above and saw how devastated Mary Jane is along with the child she’s holding on her arms while she lulls her with tears of lullaby. She can’t help but feel the guilt and remorse the longer she looks at them. She held Mary Jane on her arms and pulled her up but the nun didn’t budge from letting go of Blanche, “Let go, Mary Jane.” She whispered, “let her go.” “They need her…” she whispered. “But why?! She only did what needs to be done!” Mary Jane cries, not knowing what to say anymore since everything she’ll say will ends up bad. “Yes, I know… but you have nothing to do with this. She’s the killer and you’re not.”   Mary Jane was adamant from at first until she Marga pulled her away from her. “This nun has nothing to do with this!” she declared, “I was the one who brainwashed her to kill the high priest!” “What is she talking about?!” ministers and nuns began to murmurs, “so you were saying you’re with them?” they asked as she can see their expressions indication they pain of betrayal. And it earns her different types of reactions on the background. “Why did you do that?” “No, I know you won’t do that.” “Did she really just say that?” “What’s wrong with you! You should be burn alive!”   But she didn’t listen to any of it, instead she answers the question, “I am not with anyone else, I only live for myself and nothing more, I only used them to get what I want. It’s only me who have planned it all.” She stated boldly. “What you wanted? Is this what you want? To kill Daleon the priest?” Blue Bird asked as he readied his stance, holding the handle of his sword, ready to pull it out. “Yes, you heard me right.” Marga didn’t bat an eye when she replied, “I wanted Daleon to die.” Everyone in the scene began to get tense from the revelation she’s confessing. “So, you mean…” Cosmos trailed. “How can you utter such heartless words?” “Yes, I was the mastermind behind all of this.” She proclaimed.   “What are you saying?” Mary Jane breaths out, doesn’t know if all she’s hearing are true or she shouldn’t believe her. “Why?” wizards start to draw their weapons and pointed it to her, “why did you do that?!”  “Why wouldn’t I?” she steps forward and saunter toward the weapons getting closer, “Isn’t it a law to kill all the beasts roaming around and hurting people and it’s unlawful for anyone to harbor a beast inside their home?” “What the hell are you saying!?” Cosmos roared, “She’s out of her mind, get her too!” Ministers ordered the wizards, yet Marga didn’t even flinch, “How fool of you weeds who wants to be one of the ministers so you will be able to live peacefully under the protection of the wizards and live like your one of the nobles.” They were taken back from what she said, “T-That’s not true!” “And you know what’s more humiliating? It is that you chose to serve a monster.” She clenched her jaw, “I have to say it now. I won’t let these feelings be buried once again. I can’t just let my friend die in the hands of the person they all see as respectable.”   “Don’t call the high priest a monster! If there’s a monster here that could be you and that good for nothing child! You have the guts to be a servant of great Luxuria yet here you are… killing his disciples.” “She’s a monster to all of you but she’s the savior of many children. She brought down the justice to all the circumstances that none of you knew. And brought punishment to the sins Daleon has made.” She asserted. “The high pries have no sin! He’s clean as the newly sprung cotton on the field-!”  “Your high priest you’re admiring is a molester!” She boldly claimed. “And he has touched so many children that fingers on my hands are not enough to count them all.”   Mary Jane and the other nun’s yes are wide. Thinking that after all this, Marga knew it all. “What a blasphemy to the name of the high priest! Behead her!” they shouted. “He’s a molester! Many children in this orphanage have suffered so much because of him and what Blanche did to him is what he deserves. May his soul burn to the depths of hell.” “That’s not true!” a “Then what’s true?” she returned the question that made them all silent, “did you know who came up with the idea of getting help from outside and to make children get adopted?” Mary Jane’s eyes widen. “It was Melody….” Marga spoke, “and why?  Because she knew that Hannie was being molested, she doesn’t know how they can help their siblings so they have an idea that the only thing that can make them safe was outside their home! I know… no one was able no to notice the that ball of sunshine, the one of the most hyper back then was molested as well.” “How…” Mary Jane whispers to herself.   “How did I know?” Marge scoffs when she saw their baffled expressions, “it’s because I saw him…” clenches her fist and grits her teeth, “and to some of the children before even Mary Jane came, and throughout these years.” “Yet I chose to keep it within me, thinking that it will all passed and it will never happen. But no, I was so wrong, and Novelyn soon learned what happened and told me, but I keep on playing the cards of innocent and left her alone.” Her head is hanging low as all of them listens to her. “After she died, Mary Jane is the only one doing what she can do to protect the children. She insisted that the adoption be approved as way to let the children go away from him. She’s not an ally to the enemy, but an ally to the hero.” “Sister Marga, stop this… if you don’t stop they will have your head…” Tinkah whispered as she can see ministers and wizards are getting angrier the more she speaks “They can only have my head but I won’t remain silent… I won’t be silence, there’s nothing who can keep me quiet now. Years of keeping it all in the dark is enough.” She responded to her. “Since we are here now, I want to tell you all the truth about the death of one of us,” she spread her arms as she looks above, “after this, we might as well have a drink or two in hell, Novelyn.” “Daleon killed Novelyn.” “That’s too much! Accusing him for being a molester and now you’re saying he’s murderer?!” Mary jane look her with her eyes remain wide, she didn’t know that this nun knew everything from he very start. “I have done nothing and let my friend be killed while I keep myself hidden in the dark and play innocent while there are people who are willing to take the risk and fight.” She looks back to Mary Jane letting their eyes meet for a few second. “This is the time for me to do it as well.” “You don’t have to believe me right now, no- you don’t have to believe me but that’s all I ‘m going to say.” She stated. She turns to face the wizards and said, “Now, take me to the pedestal where I can be seen by the public, and let my head roll on the pavement as long as this tongue never praise someone like your high priest.” Thus, being said, she went to Mary Jane’s side and wipe her tears as she pulled her veil from her head and put it on her hand, “I’ll be going now.” She whispered on her ears and gave her a kiss on her forehead.  Mary Jane couldn’t make a noise nor move and could only see her walk while they carry Blanche on their shoulder. She tried to reach her hand but she failed.
