Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER XIX OCTOBER   “What have you done now, Blanche?” Mary Jane asked the sick nun on her bed as she puts towel on her warm forehead, “I didn’t think you would get sick like this.” She sighed.  Blanche responded yet her words are muffled by her thick blanket pulled up to her chin. Yet the older nun manages to understand her even though she’s not being herself. “Sometimes I would like to thank my instinct when it comes to this young lady,” she internalized, “I know, I know they threw water on you, but you shouldn’t let your wet clothes stock on you for almost an hour, your body is weak when it comes to cold. You’re always getting sick whenever winter season comes,” she sighed, “do you want something to eat?” Another series of indistinct voices heard, “Yes, yes,” the older nun breaths out in exasperation and blew the soup, “you didn’t know that kids would spill water on you but that doesn’t make that they are the ones at fault here. You are the older one, so you should be the one to think it through before acting. You should have just dried yourself and didn’t join them.” Blanche whines and throw her blanket over her head. “You will not heal faster than it should be if you keep on neglecting your food and medicine.” Another moans. “But this will help you heal.” Incoherent grumbles. “Well then go ahead name an effective medicine that has a sweet taste on it.” Silence. “Well I’ll take it as a ‘yes, I will eat and drink that medicine’.” She sighed and pull Blanche’s blanket away from her. “Eat this porridge and drink that horrible-demon’s-piss medicine.” Begrudgingly Blanche force herself to sit up straight even though her body is screaming to be in bed, her head is a total mess and her eyes are tired, “Sister Mary Jane?” she whispered weakly. “Yes?” the nun responded as she put the spoon of porridge close to her mouth. Blanche slightly laughs and asked with half lidded eyes, “How can you hold two spoons at once? Awesome.” “Oh, for the love of… this is worse than I expected.”   Meanwhile, Bernadette and Shaira are running through the forest as they tried to get away from the ‘it’ of the game. They went deeper to the forest, for they already know each trails and marks like the back of their hands. “When will sister Blanche recover?” Shaira asked, as she jumps on a huge rock. s “Don’t know, probably three or more days?” Bernadette replied, sliding under the log. Shaira grunted when she came face to face with a spider web, “I have so many things to asked her but I don’t think she trusts us, that’s just so sad.” “Who would? We’re just kids.” “You got a point there.” Shaira muttered, but then she halted from her tracks. “What’s wrong?” Bernadette also stops and look to where she’s gazing and she found herself looking at giant bush they always passed by. “Have you never noticed this wall of vines before?” But Shaira didn’t respond, instead she just went up close to it. “Shaira?” Bernadette called her and then followed her. Upon getting close Shaira finally spoke, “Did you feel it?” “What?” the other girl asked, looking around to see anything strange. “Here, I can feel slight breeze coming from it,” she pointed to the vines. “This is a forest, you can feel breeze coming from everywhere,” Bernadette stated the fact. However, Shaira didn’t listen to her, so in contrast she walks up to touch the vines and when she pushed it she goes through it. “Shai!” Bernadette called her and tried to grab her hand but it was too late, she slipped through it. And because of this, she left with no choice but to follow her. When she parted the plants, she was awestruck and confuse from what she saw. She whispered, “I don’t think we got up here before.”a “Me too.” Shaira responded, as she dusted herself. They look around and they were greeted by a much greener and darker forest beyond a metal fence. “What’s this fence?” Shaira asked. “I don’t know.” Her friend replied, “and I swear I’ve never been in this place.” “What this fence protecting us from?” Shaira queries as she walks closer to it. “I don’t think this fence is protecting us from something, just look at it, it doesn’t even reach three feet, it’s easy even for Corin to jump on.” Bernadette replied. “Then, why do you think we have this?” Shaira asked, trying to see what in shadowy place. “I don’t know but if I were the one who put this up, this will be a boundary.” “A boundary?” “Yeah, but the question is, what’s beyond this boundary?”   The bell rang and their joyous days have passed once again and the night has taken its rightful place after the day. The kids are all sleeping for all their energy is depleted. But Shaira felt the need to pee, when she saw on her way to the bathroom she got lost since she didn’t; have light with her, and he stumble upon the library. “This is really bad, I’m sure I was on my way to the bathroom,” she muttered when she finally got the hunch that the way she’s taking isn’t leading to the toilet. “Is the convent transforming when the night comes?” In the middle of her trod, she got curious when she saw the usual lock doors of library, “Huh? we don’t usually use the library except in the days where sister Mary Jane requested us to get a book or two. For that reason, she went to sneak a peek since the door is crack open, “Is there anyone-!” she was cut off when she saw a horrendous scene that makes her mind go blank. It was Daleon taking advantage on one of her siblings. She can see the arms of her sibling fighting and her feet trying to kick him off, she wanted to help but she doesn’t know how to. Her mind is blank and her whole body went numb, she can’t move any muscles on her body and all she can do is to stare at the scene unfolding on the same desk where they were talking before. “No…” she wanted to utter that simple word yet it’s stuck in her aching throat. Until someone cup her mouth and pulled her to away from the scene. And when they are away the hand released her mouth. “Det!” she exclaimed but her voice was immediately cut off when she put her hand over her mouth again and her finger on her own lips so signal her to get quiet. Thus, she pulled Shaira and starts to run. “Where are we going?” Shaira asked, but she get no answer. “Det, we have a sibling there!” she pulled her hand away from her grasp. “Come on, hurry up. We need to get sister Blanche!” she whisper-yelled. “But…” “She’s the only one who can help us!” she responded and as she yanks her again.   On the other hand, Blanche is almost throwing herself on her bed, squirming and murmuring unclear words of plea. Her temple is sweaty and her bedsheets are getting soak from her own sweat. “No…” she whispered as her hand grips the sheets, “don’t touch them.” “You’re going to hell…” “I’ll send you to hell.” With her last statement her eyes suddenly shoot open as she inhales loudly as if she didn’t breathe, she sits up only to feel the sweat cascading on her chin, and the neck of her nightgown is also drenched. getting up from her bead with aching body to walk to the bath room. “Wha… what happened?” she asked, her breathing is getting on the pace. And then she suddenly feels the call of nature. “Why do I have to pee when it’s the middle of the night.” She grumbled but nonetheless stood. She gets the lamp on the side table and lit it, she stares a few moments on it before she realized her feeling is all better, “Wow, that porridge must have did the job.” But when just about to get the door, know two kids went and barge inside her room, “Hey, play is enough for the day.” But then she immediately went silent when she sees their scared eyes, “What happened?”   The fire flickers from her lamp and everything happens in a blur, Blanche is running towards the library where the kids saw Daleon. The light on her hand is unstable because of the air. The way to the library from her bedroom is usually easy to go there, but now, every step they take seems like a painful hour of waiting, as if they are running in slow motion and the only thing that’s fast are the rhythm of their hearts. And just a few steps away from the door she heard the cries of the child and there she runs faster not caring what’s around her anymore. There, she threw the door open, making Daleon’s vison darted to the source of sound, Blanche can see his eyes going wide as saucers. She couldn’t take what she’s seeing and the rope of restraint and fear that are being held inside her heart for ten years finally snaps from all the scene unfolding in front of her. Thus, she drops the lamp she’s holding on to the floor and fire blew out but her eyes can clearly see his image and he’s all she can see. Without thinking twice, she kicks him on his private part to send him away from the child. The two kids that stood by the doorway weren’t able to move any of their muscles. Blanche didn’t stop there, she encages him between his legs and pummel her fist on his face, “You bastard!” she screeched as she keeps on hitting him letting his filthy blood splatter allover her face and clothes. “You… are… a… monster!” she said in between each punch. Even though he’s strong despite his age, he can’ fight back, because her anger brought her inhumane strength, and because of that had no choice but to cry out and beg her to stop, “My c-child, s-top-!” “Don’t you dare call me your child!” she screamed on his face. The kids witness how she brutally pummel the high priest, as if she’s the beast herself, “Call upon your Luxuria!” she roared. “Why aren’t you calling that, huh?!” The priest let out groans and tries to kick her off of him but it was all futile. “I’m sorry…” Daleon mouthed, he can’t whisper anymore words for he’s too beat up. “After all those years…” Blanche whispered as she looks at his bloody face, “of seeing them getting hurt do you think I will forgive you?” “Hannie, Melody…” she muttered, “my siblings… even the boy Caspire…” her eyes are filled with raging anger that even Daleon never expected that he will see the same eyes he has killed long ago. He can see, the same fire of grudge that Novelyn held for him, it’s scorching to look at as if he’s being burn just by looking at it. He tried to call for his necklace but it didn’t respond to him. “Just how many children went…” she paused from her question, she doesn’t want any answer for that because if she knew, her heart will shatter in to millions of broken pieces. “They trusted you with all their hearts and this is how you repay them? From all the mistake you have done… from all the lies you have spout, there’s only one thing that I believe from them.” She laughs maniacally, “monsters should be killed.” And then proceeded to choke him. She grips his neck tightly that his tongue started to poke out and his eyes are turning wide while his hands are clawing her arms away from his neck, his face is getting pale and his feet starts to kick. While she was holding his neck, she saw him trying to reach his necklace, but she didn’t let him and instead she beat him and grab it away from him, snatching it up using her right hand while her left keeps on holding her down as she straddle him. And then out of sudden the pendant became the cross of Luxuria. Bewilderment is written all over the high priest’s face. Without thinking twice, she stood up and pull the weapon over her head and instantly stabs him in the heart, her furious eyes and Luxuria are the only thing he saw before he’s finally gone. Bernadette and Shaira saw everything, while Lossa remains unconscious on the table, they made a quick beeline to get her. The sound of ruckus awakens the most of them and they hurriedly went to the scene, most of the first ones who manage to arrive at the scene are Gregoria who suddenly collapsed as soon as she saw the bloody scene and the kids with Mary Jane. “What’s going on?” Mary Jane asked when she entered the room but then she saw Blanche on top of dead body. “Blanche!” she yelled.
