Sin of Lust by Swapie Achilles CHAPTER XXV OCTOBER   “I guess you don’t have to worry about him, I think he wouldn’t touch your family.” Blanche reassured them with a small smile. “How can you be so sure?” Lienzo asked, peeking from behind his mother. “Is your family bad?” she asked and the little kid shook her head no, “then there’s nothing for you to worry about. Maybe he’s just murdering people that are bad,” she was hesitant at first to say that but, she knows to herself she only did that because she has the right reason to do so. “Do I really have the right reason?” She internalizes, gripping the handle of the wooden spoon a little tight, “or I’m just a murderer.” She shook her head to clear her thoughts. And this made the little girl’s grim expression turns bright until Myoral spoke. “Then, why did he kill the high priest of your town?” she asked with her hand on her chin, “I don’t see nor heard anything bad about that priest.” “I don’t know?” Blanche replied in a low voice, “maybe because he saw things on him that is bad? And he couldn’t take it anymore so he killed him? We don’t know who really a person is, because even demon can disguise himself as an angel.” “Maybe you’re right, kindness is easy to fake nowadays,” Mryoral agreed to her, “and that murderer might have the reason to do so. Because there are times where god send a demon to do the angel’s job, do you know why that is?” “Why?” Blanche got curious. “Because angels can’t raise a hand on humans, but the demon can raise their sword even to god.” She replied. “So, angels are weak?” Lona asked. “No, they are not weak, they just have a soft heart to hurt anyone, but the demon has the courage to face anyone.” The mother smiled at her daughter. “Then I want to be a demon!” Lona chimed, “because I want the same courage!” “So, you want to hurt someone? I don’t want that.” Lienzo commented with a sad tone.  Myoral only laughs at her offspring, “Why can you be both? Care like an angel, and fight like a demon.” “What do you mean?” Lienzo asked. “Listen here, I want you to have the heart of an angel, soft and caring. Who brought healing to those who are hurt, but at the same time,” she raised her finger in front of him, making Lienzo’s eyes crisscross. “I want you to have the courage the devil has however don’t use it to hurt others, but keep it inside you and only use stand up against those who wanted to bring pain and destruction to those who you love.” She stated, but it seems like the children can’t comprehend what she’s saying by the look on their faces. “You’ll understand it, when you’re a little older.” She let out a chortle. “We don’t know each side of story, it will take a heart of steel to forgive someone, but someone must have endured to so much heartbreaks to be pushed to killing.” Myoral stated, as she caresses her children’s head, looking at them lovingly. Blanche felt ever every hair on her body stood as the shivers crawl on her spine from what she heard. Her hands began to tremble as she fights her tears from fall. All they are talking about is the murder she committed, but no one was ever pointed out the pain she went through from watching her siblings getting hurt, and now that someone has pointed it out, she felt as if someone understands her, even though they didn’t know that she was the culprit.  “I…” her voice is trembling, but she paused when a masculine voice interrupted them. “Hey what are you doing here? Oh!” the man’s confusion turns into more confusion, “she’s finally awake!” “Poppa! The kids chimed and they run towards the man to which he didn’t hesitate to carry them both on his arms. “Yes, and she ate the soup and she said it was delicious!” “Darling…” Myoral greeted him, “welcome back, how was it?”  “I see, I see.” He chuckles when he heard his kids’ enthusiasm, he put them down and trod towards her way, “it’s done, I can start the small renovation of our roof later.” He answered his wife’s queries before he turns to the lady in blanket. “I am Julius and I assume that they already told you what happen.” Blanche nodded, “Yes, they have. I am Blanche.”   “Do you have somewhere to go?” Julius asked her. Blanche lowered her gaze once more before she responds with a simple, “No sir, I don’t have.” Julius gave her a gentle smile and said, “You can stay here if you would like.” And in an instant both Blanche and the children’s face grew bright at the news. “I mean if only you would like to stay at a place like this.” He chuckled at himself and rub the back of his head. “No! that’s not a bit of a problem.” She insisted, “and besides who am I to judge, I’m just a free loader… but if there’s a chance I can help you with? I’m good with laundry.” The husband and wife look at each other before they grinned, “Well if you insist, we are in need of help in our small farm.” The husband said, “but I would highly appreciate it if you will help my wife in weaving.” “Weaving? I don’t know much about it but I’m willing to learn.” She smiled at them, “so when we’ll get start?” she asked. “He’s just kidding, weaving is one of my habit before.” Myoral slightly elbowed her husband on his stomach. “Perhaps it would be better to start when you are fully healed, don’t worry, you don’t have to move much today, I already tend your wounds while you were passed out.” And that’s when Blanche remember the beatings she received thus this made her realize the pain she has on, “Oh my god, I almost forgot.” She facepalms, then she felt the soft fabric wrap on her head. “So, we will let you rest here for a while before we got to change our roof.” She said and leave her along in a room. “Just call us if you need anything.”   Blanche laid down once more and pulled the blanket over her, she closes her eyes, trying to get back to sleep however, her attempts are futile and her soul remains awake. Thus, this make her think. “It won’t be long until they find out who I really am,” she internalized, “and after that I will surely be in the same pedestal I escaped from, but I don’t mind that.” She turns to her side before closing her eyes, yet two mere thought keeps disturbing her from sleeping, “But who is the man who rumored to murder Daleon? I’m sure my face was seen by the whole city so they can’t be mistaken with my appearance.” “And who’s the voice I heard when I fought them? I can’t get that voice out of my mind and I will never forget that, it controls me.” She pulled her necklace to see the same cross she used to kill the priest, but this time its size is the same as a coin. “What are you?” she asked the pendant, not hoping to get an answer but to at least leave a very important question that she needs to know. “I have so many questions, but that’s enough for this day, I don’t want to think anymore.” She sighed but then her mind can’t take rest, “eventually I still have to face the consequences from the crime I have committed. But I guess, I’ll have to give my best shot to thank them before they curse me. That’s all that matters.”   Meanwhile, the couple are getting outside taking walk on the cornfield they owned while their kids are playing around, when the husband turns to his wife and said, “That’s her!” he exclaimed. “What do you mean?” Myoral asked with creases brows. “The killer of the priest.” He replied.  “What?” the wife stops from their tracks to look at her partner, “no, that can’t be her.” She shrugs him off. “What makes you say that? I’m sure that’s her!” “No, the murderer is a him!” Myoral defended the girl in their home. “Are you out of your mind?” “No,” husband pull a poster of Blanche’s face, “this is the murderer! And this face is all over the city already, if they found her in our house then that would be a much larger trouble.”
