Chapter 3

"Help! Please help us!" Jhanine panicked as she held the young lady. Some people rushed over due to the woman's screams, while others remained indifferent. "Please find a doctor!" she screamed loudly, and the panicked flight attendant quickly approached them. Another flight attendant looked distressed as she approached, "Ma'am, there's no doctor, just a nurse here," she said. The woman panicked even more. The nurse, who also seemed panicked, approached and checked on Sarhea. Jhanine placed her hand on Sarhea's nose and felt her breathing. Shortly after, a man in a brown leather jacket, white shirt, and black pants arrived with the attendant. Jhanine paused when she saw him. "Ma'am, he said he's not a doctor, but we insisted with his companion in case he could help your companion," the attendant said hesitantly. The man sat in front of Sarhea and asked the nurse for various items. Jhanine couldn't hear what they were saying as she just stared at the man in front of her, holding Sarhea's hand. The woman's heart was pounding not just out of worry but because of the man in front of her. But the woman was surprised when oxygen was placed over Sarhea's nose and mouth. "What are you doing?! What's happening to her?!" she shouted in concern, looking at her stepdaughter. He answered without looking at the woman, "She has water in her lungs, so—" the woman cut him off. "What are you going to do?!" she shouted loudly at him again. He just looked at the woman coldly before continuing what he was doing. He slowly inserted a large needle into the lower left chest of Sarhea. Jhanine grabbed the hand of her stepdaughter, "Please! Don't do that if you're not sure! Sarhea might die! You're not a doctor! Don't put her life in danger! You're not a doctor! You're not a doctor! Please!" the woman shouted repeatedly at him, causing the man to momentarily stop. But he continued with his actions. Beads of sweat formed on the man's forehead. The large needle was almost filled with water, and as he pulled it out, blood suddenly came out. Jhanine felt a surge of fear at what was happening. Oh god, please don't let anything happen to her. Please, keep her safe. The woman looked at her stepdaughter's face, seeing her pale complexion and deep breaths. The man quickly treated Sarhea, bandaged the wound, and stitched the incision on the lower left chest. He checked the time before standing up, cleaning up with the nurse and other flight attendants. "You have 5 minutes before the plane lands; there's a nearby hospital you can go to," the man who helped said, then turned and walked away without saying anything more to the two women. Upon hearing that, Jhanine finally breathed a sigh of relief. It was uncertain if Sarhea was in stable condition, but what mattered was that her situation was addressed promptly. They placed Sarhea on a stretcher. They called an ambulance and took care of everything because Jhanine's mind was still reeling from what had happened. As soon as the plane landed, Sarhea was quickly taken to the hospital.
