MIKA'S POV
I'm outside our house, waiting for my incredibly handsome brother, hihihi.
After a few minutes, he arrived on his motorcycle.
"Kuyaaa!" I greeted him happily, waving. He smiled when he saw me, and he also had a bag with my favorite siopao in it.
I hugged him, "Kuya, what's that?" I asked with a big smile, even though I knew what it was.
"Don't run around, you might get hurt," he advised me.
"Sorry. So, what's that, Kuya?" I asked again.
He teasingly looked at me, "Uh, this? Siopao, but this isn't for you," he said, raising the bag. I frowned at his words and loosened my hug.
"Hmp! I thought that was for me!" I pouted as I looked at him.
"Oh," he handed it to me, "I was just kidding," he tousled my hair, then looked around, "Where's Jacobi?" I felt giddy just hearing that name.
"There," I pointed with my nose as Jacobi approached.
Shenks! I'm getting giddy, calm down Mika, you might die early.
"Tol!" they greeted each other before doing their bro code.
"How was your trip, Daven?" Jacobi asked before sitting on the balcony chair.
My brother went to the States because someone called us, saying there was a potential heart donor there since we couldn't find one here in the Philippines. Even though he just got out of the hospital yesterday with a broken bone and a lump, he quickly went there to confirm if it was true.
My brother sighed, "The family backed out, " he said sadly. Oh, I knew that was for me. Even without certainty, my brother seized that opportunity. I have a heart condition and need a heart transplant to prolong my life. I'm a regular at the hospital, so my brother is doing everything he can to help me heal.
I hung my head and felt guilty, "Kuya, I'm sorry for making things difficult for you," I said sadly.
My brother shook his head, "Don't apologize, I'll do everything for you, to get you the operation. Don't lose hope, okay?" he said, giving me an assuring smile. Wow, he's really handsome.
"Yes, don't give up. We'll always watch over you and we won't leave you, so you shouldn't leave us either," Jacobi said with a smile, gently tapping my arm.
Waaaah! I'm not supposed to feel too emotional; he might tease me to death with too much excitement.
My brother and Jacobi have been friends since high school, and they both have no parents. He was left here by his family, so my brother let him stay in our house. Jacobi should be working, but my brother stopped him and told him to take care of me because sometimes when he's not around, I get rushed to the hospital.
I just pouted while trying to hold back my smile; I don't want to show them, especially my brother, that I'm getting giddy. It's embarrassing.
"Kuya, how's your broken bone and lump? Is it still painful? Have you eaten? Do you want to rest?" I asked in rapid succession without taking a breath, hehehe. I just changed the topic.
I shouldn't have known about my brother's accident because they didn't want to tell me; they were afraid that if I worried too much, I might get rushed to the hospital again. But I overheard them talking on the phone, so I found out.
"Come on, you need to sleep now, you shouldn't stay up late," he said and stood up, and Jacobi and I followed.
As I stood in front of my room's door, I faced him, "Goodnight, Kuya, goodnight, Jacobi," I said with a yawn.
"Goodnight," my brother said and kissed my forehead.
"Goodnight, Mika," Jacobi said, making me smile. I was about to kiss him on the cheek, but before I could do that, my brother flicked my forehead.
"Aww," I rubbed my forehead.
"Time to sleep," he said, and I just smiled at them and fell asleep, even though my forehead still hurt.
Almost there, I was about to kiss him. Hmp!
