"JACOBI'S POV
As soon as Mika entered the room, I was about to head to my room when Daven spoke up.
"We met again," he said seriously. I immediately knew who he was referring to.
"Oh, what happened?" I asked before sitting on the other sofa.
"She seems fine," he said, still serious but I could feel the anger in every word he spoke. There was a few minutes of silence.
Tsk! I knew it, he still hasn't forgotten about that woman.
"Are you still angry at her?" obviously yes.
"Very much," he said clenching his fist. I swallowed, feeling the anger in his voice.
"Uh, I saw a watch in your room earlier when I was cleaning, can I have it? Since you don't wear it anyway, maybe I c–"
"I'll return it to the rightful owner, annoying, after I saved her life," he said with a grin.
What a waste.
"I'm going to sleep," he said, and left me.
"Tch! He didn't even wait for me," leaving me here.
I stood up and went to my room, and fell asleep.
I woke up early so I went to the kitchen to make coffee. While I was stirring my coffee, I saw Daven enter the kitchen, all dressed up.
Hmmm..where could he be going? It's only five in the morning.
"Where are you off to?" I asked while sipping my coffee.
"I just have somewhere to go," he said, also sipping his coffee.
"Tsk! I already know, you're all dressed up," it's difficult talking to him.
He just looked at me and stood up, not finishing his coffee. "I'm leaving," he bid goodbye.
"Hey, where are you going?" I shouted but he didn't respond, I just heard the sound of the motor as he drove away.
I stood up and started preparing breakfast. I do most of the household chores here, which is fine with me because my friend let me stay here without asking for anything in return. Daven doesn't like being repaid when he helps, unless it's really necessary.
So, I should help out here somehow. The only problem is when he stops me from working; I also want to help but he doesn't want me to. He just told me to watch over Mika. So, that's okay.
Mika is nice, I treat her like a little sister. She looks like a child but she's already eighteen, five years younger than me.
I finished cooking when Mika came into the kitchen, pouting. She's really cute.
"Why are you pouting? You look like that early in the morning," I said while setting the table.
"Big brother isn't here, where did he go?" that's my problem, when Mika asks and I don't know the answer.
"Uhmm, well–ahh, he had to fix something with his motorcycle, that's why he left early," I just said, sigh.
She sat down so I poured her some milk, and we started eating.
We were halfway through our meal when my phone rang. I checked who was calling. It was Shae.
"Hello Shae," I said on the other line after swallowing my food. Mika raised her eyebrows, looking at me.
"Hi Jacobi! I was going to have water delivered to the house, we ran out, can you do it?" Shae said.
"Uh.. now?" I asked, I haven't finished eating yet, adding to my thoughts.
"Yes, I'll wait for you in my house okay, take care muawh!" she said, then hung up.
I secretly deliver water to our neighbors, so I don't rely on Daven for everything. We're just in a simple town, and not everyone living here is wealthy.
Mika knows, it's only Daven who doesn't know that I deliver water.
"Mika, I'll be gone for a bit, I'm going to deliver water to Shae," I said.
"Shae again, don't you notice that she's flirting with you Jacobi?" she asked, sounding disapproving. She doesn't want to call me 'big brother,' I don't know why.
"I'll be quick, I'll be back soon," I said, then left.
"Take care," she said lifelessly.
What happened there?
I walked towards Shae's house, knocking on the door with a hand carrying the water.
The door opened and Shae greeted me with a big smile.
"You're here, come in first, let's eat together," she offered.
"No, actually I already ate so thank you," I said and went inside to put the water in the container. I noticed she had two more jugs of water, but I just let it be, maybe it's for her bath. She's so high maintenance.
She frowned at my response, "Can't you have seconds? I even cooked, what a waste," she said trying to be cute. Lol, you're not cute.
"I need to leave, I have something to do," I said, this girl is so persistent.
She gave me the payment even though she kept insisting on feeding me, I left and returned home.
When I entered the kitchen, I found Mika unconscious, lying on the floor with food scattered and broken plates beside her.
I quickly approached her, seeing her like that made her look pale. Without hesitation, I lifted her and ran to get a tricycle to take her to the hospital.
I shouldn't have left her! It's a good thing I didn't agree to stay longer at Shae's place.
