I watched as Jax got up and looked around the surrounding area. I was a bit confused as to what he was doing, but my wolf spoke up in my head saying, "He is making sure we are safe, dummy."
I was surprised to realize that she was right, though the insult was unnecessary. I knew she was just anxious, but still. I noticed the pinched look on Jax’s face as he strained his senses. I allowed my hearing to branch out as well, but I was disappointed when I realized that my senses were still blunted by the remnants of the wolfsbane in my system.
