VASILISA:
“What the f**k did you just call us?” I'm going to assume for his sake that he didn't call me and Eva whores.
His piercing icy blue eyes, sharp and unforgiving, stared down at me. He was tall, looking to be about 6”4 and well built. But his height, stature, or glare did nothing to intimidate me.
I've seen and made men twice his size cry like toddlers during interrogations.
His eyes almost glow with intensity, exuding dominance and calculation. The kind of glare that could paralyse or pierce right through someone's soul.
But not mine, I'm equally dead inside so I'm not phased by his sorry excuse of a death glare.
“I’m not repeating myself. Walk out or get dragged out. Your call” His voice was deep and sounded like it was coming from the bottom of his throat but it was alluring enough that you'd want to hear more.
His dark, thick eyebrows, furrowed and intense. They're slightly angled downward, adding a look of perpetual judgment and simmering fury.
I'll admit he's an attractive man, if he wasn't an asshole.
“I'm not taking orders from someone who waltzes into a VIP section and bullies us into leaving because his mother didn't teach him manners, if he even had one”
I've seen the whole alpha male archetype before and it's not flattering.
His chiselled jawline, coated with a slight stubble, was locked. If he wasn't such an asshole, I'd say he was hot. He had sculpted lips and a strong and straight nose, giving him an almost statuesque profile.
“And what about you?” He retorted. “A spoiled, rich little daddy's girl who didn't have to lift a finger while growing up and hasn't worked a day in her life. Why are you here? Boyfriend dumped you, so you're looking for your next one-night stand? Maybe I could give you a good time” his voice held a mocking tone.
His hands ran through his rich, dark hair. Strands fell over his forehead, making him look dangerous and sensual at once.
I also noticed the scars he had. A diagonal scar under his right eye, trailing slightly toward his cheekbone. Then, a vertical scar across his lip, although it was so small you'd miss it.
Then, finally, faint lines along his jaw & neck were along the edge of his jawline and disappeared beneath the collar.
“In your dreams, Scarface. I'm sure your d**k isn't as big as your ego and pride. Besides, you're probably some mama's boy with more money than sense. Now be a good boy before I add another scar to your collection”
He didn't say anything, he only looked at me from head to toe while I glared at him. Was he checking me out?
Now of all times?!
Whatever thoughts I had of him being attractive have gone out the window, he officially irritates me.
“Careful. A glare like that could get a man killed” he spoke suddenly. I could have sworn I saw him smirking.
“Trust me, if I'm to kill you, it would be far slower and more personal than just staring.”
“Is that a threat?” He looked amused.
“It's not a threat, it's a warning” Talking with this bozo had ruined my night altogether. If it were only me, I would have made him cry blood.
But I had to think of Eva as well.
“You know what? Have it. Trespassing my ass. C'mon, Eva,” I picked up my drink, grabbed Eva by the wrist and made my way towards the door. Before stepping out, a wonderful idea popped in my head.
“Oh, and here's a peace treaty”, I poured my drink on him, making sure it got into his clothes before walking away.
I shouldn't let that guy get under my skin, but my night is already ruined, and now, I just want to go home and sleep. After once again navigating a sea of sweaty people, I called our Uber and got Eva and me home.
“Who was that guy anyway?” Eva hiccups. She had been quiet the entire time, except for her occasional attempt to stifle her laugh.
She knows how I get whenever I'm pissed. I'm a relatively calm person until I'm not and I can only turn a blind eye to so much bullshit before I rub your face in it.
“Someone we will never see again. I hope he gets hit by a car” I pulled out my phone and began scrolling through social media to try to take my mind off things.
But that was the whole point of going clubbing and that ass ruined it for me. The car eventually pulled up at Eva's place.
I helped her inside, and we both changed up. It's a tradition whenever we sleep over at each other's house that we share the same room and personally, I didn't want to be alone.
And her bed is big enough for four people so we won't feel cramped. I couldn't stop thinking about Mr. Scarface, despite his evident lack of manners, he's an interesting character.
Sort of.

“Somebody kill me”, I grumbled as I straightened my clothes. It has been three days since we went to the club. Deduska gave me even more bad news yesterday.
My husband, his father and his grandfather are coming over today to negotiate some terms involving our marriages and sign a few contracts.
They decided it wouldn't be fair if we met at the altar so they brought up this wonderful idea of having lunch together.
I don't mind meeting his family, it's meeting him that's the problem. Because I don't know how I'd react.
I don't always play nice.
“Believe me, I've tried, but you're difficult to kill,” Oleg joked, nudging my shoulder.
“Besides, you can't die just yet, there's still so much for us to do,” Deduska added, putting on a serious face. I love him but sometimes he treats me like a project.
Their car finally pulled up and my heart went straight up to my throat. Not out of excitement but out of nervousness. This meeting could go wrong in a million and one ways. It's the f*****g Mafia for crying out loud.
And me killing my husband is one of those many ways. An older man stepped out with strong features. He and Deduska were the same height of six feet.
He had beautiful brown eyes and his hair was almost entirely covered in grey. He wore a suit, I mean what else do men in the Mafia wear?
Especially for meetings like this.
“Romano” Deduska started his tone of voice grimly as my soon-to-be father-in-law, Romano, approached us.
“You've gotten fat, Ivan” Romano stated, looking my grandfather up and down.
“Well, you've gotten uglier than I remember. Try investing in skincare and taking care of those wrinkles”
GRANDPA?! I had to bite the inside of my lip to prevent myself from laughing.
There was a pindrop silence before hearty laughter and cackling filled the air. The two men embraced each other.
“Long time no see,” Romano smiled, turning to shake Oleg with a curt nod, acknowledging him.
“I would have liked to keep it that way but promises in our youth wouldn't let us” Deduska and Romano turned to me.
“Hello, Vasilisa” he took my hand and kissed the back of it. I smiled and said hello.
“You look too beautiful to be Ivan's granddaughter” This time, I didn't bother trying to hide my laugh. I can't imagine he would be this friendly. My future family might not be such dipshits after all.
“Well, my son had good taste” There was a weak smile. One that always crossed his face when he spoke of my parents. It's something I doubt he'll ever get over.
“Speaking of sons,” as if on cue, two other men stepped out from Romano's car. One is far older than the other. The older man looked to be in his late forties or early fifties and the younger man—
Fuck my life!
Was the asshole at the club!
