Once Jacob and I make it out to the hall I pull my hand from his. He looks a little disappointed but I’m just not prepared for the staring. Not to mention all this is happening really fast.
I bump my arm against his smiling, hoping to lighten his disappointment. He throws his arm over my shoulders and smiles down at me. We start making our way out to his truck.
This is better than the hand holding at least. Not that I don’t want to hold his hand.
I’m pretty close to rubbing myself against him like a cat in heat.
But I just got here. It’s literally my first day of school. I need more time to acclimate before jumping into a relationship.
If that’s even what he’s interested in.
Once we make it outside and head towards his truck, we get stopped by his friends again.
“Hey guys, where ya going?” Coren says, fake smile plastered to her face.
“Oh, I’m taking Bi home.” Jacob says smiling at me.
“Oh! Can I get a ride too? I was gonna catch a ride with Garrett but he has practice. But if your offering rides?”
I think I’m gonna throw up. Coren is such a sneaky little b***h.
“Oh..uh well, I can but I’ll have to drop you off first.”
“Oh. Okay” Coren says. Looking utterly devastated not to get a chance to be alone with Jacob.
I can’t help the smile forming and turn to cover it with my hand. Hopefully she didn’t notice.
I’m turning towards the truck so we can get in when Sierra calls my name. “Hey Bi wait.”
“Yea what’s up?”
“I was wondering if I could get your number? I would love to have a girls night sometime.” She says smiling.
“Oh yea sure. Here put yours in my phone and I’ll text you.” I pull my phone out and see several missed calls from my mom. That’s odd. I’ll call her as soon as I get home.
I swipe the screen and pass my phone to Sierra.
She puts her number in and hands it back smiling. “Don’t forget, text me tonight so I’ll have yours.”
“Promise.” I say with a cheesy grin. She’s so sweet. I’m so glad I met at least one nice female friend today.
Although…I am concerned why I had a reaction when we shook hands. Hopefully it’s nothing. But I won’t be sure unless I make contact again. It would be a little weird to just grab her hand though. I’ll have to wait for it to occur naturally.
Turning back to Jacob and the truck I walk towards the passenger door. I’m sure Coren will try and sit up front with Jacob. Which is totally fine. I’m not bothered at all.
(Yea right. Keep telling yourself that Bianca.)
I reach the passenger door just as Coren does. Jacob coming up behind us and grabbing the handle to open it. “Hey uh Coren, here.” Jacob opens the back door. Signaling for Coren to get in the back.
Oh she looks pissed now. I quickly try to hide another smile. I’m not sure I was fast enough this time.
If looks could kill, my God I’d be a pile of dust on the ground.
She begrudgingly climbs into the back seat. He shuts the door and grabs my hand as I step onto the step and climb inside.

The entire way to Coren’s house she’s non stop chattering. Every time I go to say something she talks over me. Eventually I give up and just sit silently.
FINALLY we make it to her house and she leans between the seats to say goodbye to Jacob.
After we pull away he looks over at me. “I’m sorry about her. I’ve told her a million times it’s not gonna happen between us. She can’t seem to let it go.”
“Oh it’s fine. She’s your friend. I don’t have territory over you Jake.”
“What if I want you to have territory over me?”
My mouth goes dry instantly. I look at Jacob. I open and close my mouth, trying to say something. Anything at all but nothing comes out.
Giving up I just snap my mouth closed and stare out the windshield.
“Hey, I’m sorry. Was that too soon? I know you just moved back but Bi, I haven’t stopped thinking about you once today.” He says with a sigh.
Blushing and feeling like my face is on fire I think of something to say that won’t be a complete shut down. “It’s okay. I just..don’t think I’m ready for anything like that Jacob. I..I like you. I do. but it’s my first day here. I need time to adjust.”
“Take all the time you need, I’m not going anywhere.” Making eye contact with me and smiling before his eyes flick back to the road.
“Soooo, what do you like to do for fun now?”
Thank God he’s changing the subject.
“Mm I really like to read. Painting. Oh and I’m slightly obsessed with PC gaming.”
“That sounds cool, I would love to see some of your art sometime.”
“Oh. I don’t normally..show anyone my art. I’ll think about it. I can show you some of my PC games. You can come over after we go riding this weekend. Yea?”
“Sounds like a date. I mean…a plan.” Jacob says chuckling.

A few minutes later we pull into my drive way. My dad won’t be off for another couple hours.
“Thanks again for the ride Jake. I really appreciate it.” I say with my hand on the door handle.
“No problem. Do you need a ride again tomorrow?”
“Oh that would be great! That way my dad doesn’t have to worry about it. You’re a life saver.”
He leans over and my breathing stalls. What’s he doing? Is he gonna kiss me? Do I want him to kiss me?
Oh no. I think I might. It’s too soon!
Instead of leaning towards my lips, he softly brushes his lips against my cheek.
He might as well have kissed me on the lips for how I react to it.
I jerk backwards, opening the door on accident and almost falling backwards to the ground. Just before going over Jacob grabs my wrist and pulls me back in.
Oh my God I’m mortified. A kiss on the cheek and I go tumbling out of a vehicle.
When I right myself he’s barely containing his laughter. Completely embarrassed I say a quick goodbye and exit the vehicle slowly. Making sure not to make an even bigger fool out of myself.
I run up the stairs, unlock the front door and dive inside. I collapse onto the floor. I look down at my legs and. Yep. I’m invisible.
Thank God I made it inside first.
Time to call mom and figure out how to get a control on this.
