Jacob and I just hang around the living room doing our homework until my dad comes home.
“Hey Bi, how was school? I saw Jacob’s truck outside. He hanging around for dinner?”
“Yea I hope it’s okay. I asked Jacob for help on my homework since I’m still new.”
“All good Bi. Jacob is always welcome here.”
Jacob slaps on a cheesy grin “Thank you sir.”
“I’ll order us something, any suggestions?” My dad asks, leaning against the arm of the couch.
“Pizza?” I say, looking between my dad and Jacob.
“Sounds good to me, I’ll call now.” My dad says walking into the kitchen to order the food.

After dinner, and I’m cleaning up. My dad heads into the living room to watch tv.
I’m still in the kitchen, Jacob next to me while I wash dishes.
“So how do you plan on getting back inside after you fake leave?” I ask Jake in a low whisper.
“Don’t worry about that part. I’ll be waiting. I promise.”
“Yea yea. Promises promises.”
“I’m serious Bianca. Edward and I both will be waiting when you come upstairs.”
“Okay. Fine. I’m just happy you both will be giving me an explanation for all this craziness.”
A little while later after watching some tv with my dad and Jacob, Jacob gets up to fake leave.
A few minutes later I let my dad know I’m going to shower and head to bed early. Making up an excuse that I didn’t sleep well the night before.
I make it upstairs and stop outside my bedroom door. I take a few deep breaths. Keeping my gifts in check for now. Last thing I need is for them to go haywire.
I crack open my door and see neither Jacob or Edward is here yet. Thank God. It gives me time to shower and calm my nerves before they get here.
After quickly showering and putting on my nightshirt I settle on my bed to wait. Then I realize I should maybe put on some pants as well.
I stand up and run over to my closet. Going in and pulling out a pair of sleep shorts, sliding them on quickly. I turn around, walking out of my closet and slam into a warm hard chest. I let out a small squeak and look up at Jacob’s face.
“Jesus you scared me!” I whisper yell and slap him on the chest. Realizing it’s hard, like really hard. I suck a breath in through my teeth and shake out my hand.
“Oh s**t I’m sorry Bi, are you okay?” He asks, taking my hand and kissing my palm.
“Hey now, none of that until after we’ve talked to her.”
I jump again, then lean around Jacob and see Edward sitting at the foot of my bed.
Oh sweet baby Jesus, I have both of them in my room right now. My heart slamming in my chest. Heat spearing through me and my cheeks feeling hot. I step around Jacob fully and walk over to the window seat.
I’m not sure how graceful that was, considering my legs feel like they may give out.
“Alright. Talk.” I manage to get out. Then look between both Jacob and Edward. “You were already late.”
“Alright I’ll go first.” Edward says on a sigh leaning forward. Jacob takes the chair at my desk and spins it around and sits.
“Sit down Bianca. This will be a lot to take in.” Jacob says. Giving me an encouraging smile. I sit down on my window seat, tucking my legs under me.
“Bianca, you like to read right?” Edward asks. I nod my head yes. Not willing to speak yet.
“Well, what have you read on vampires?”
“I mean just your basic vampire stories. They drink blood, super strength, live forever type stuff” I respond. Not sure where he’s going with this.
“Some of that is true yes. Some details were left out for our protection. but what’s a better way to hide than to tell the world about us in fantasy stories?”
What is he talking about?!
Edward stands up. Taking a few steps in my direction. “I’m a Vampire Bianca.” He says, face serious.
“The cold ones.” I whisper under my breath. Looking down.
“That’s another name for us yes, but how do you know that?” Edward asks, head tilted slightly.
“Oh uh. Just continue, and I’ll explain after.”
My mom was right. But does that mean she was right about him being dangerous too?
Edward still looking slightly confused continues. “Well I’m a Vampire yes, and I do require blood to live. I don’t harm people though, I promise Bianca. I would never hurt anyone. I drink from blood bags or animals only.”
Okay that’s not so bad. I mean it’s still not great but I’d rather him drink from blood bags than a live human.
“I can live forever, as long as I feed. If I don’t feed I’ll desiccate. I’ll go into a deep sleep-like state. I do have super strength and speed as well, and hearing better than even most animals. And don’t freak out about this part, but I can read people’s minds.”
WHAT?!
I open my mouth to speak but Edward interjects quickly before I can start freaking out. “I can’t read yours though! I don’t know why, but you’re the exception.”
I take a long deep breath. Calming a little.
“You okay Bi?” Jacob asks and I turn to him. Giving him a small nod. Still a bit afraid to speak.
“How..how can you go out in daylight?” I ask. Remembering from a lot of my books that Vampires can’t go out in daylight.
Edward gives me a small smile. “Ah, that’s a well kept secret. We have witches make us something called a daylight ring. It’s blessed by witches to make us day walkers.”
I look down to Edward’s hands, spotting the ring on his right hand immediately. A silver band, with woven rope like swirls engraved in it.
I look down at my lap again. Trying to process all this information. While also battling with what my mom said. Telling me Edward was dangerous and to stay away from him.
Then I realize with a jolt that Edward just said ALL of this in front of Jacob and Jacob isn’t freaking out.
“Uh Jacob, why aren’t you spazzing right now?! Are you a Vampire too?!” I feel my lungs tighten, a weight settling on my chest. I would pick the two guys in the whole world to fall for that turned out to be f*****g Vampires.
Jacob stands up and crosses to me quickly. Grabbing my face in his hands, forcing me to look at him. “Breath Bianca. Now.”
I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
Edward steps closer, picking my hand up with both of his. Caressing the inside of my wrist and I feel myself relax. Their touch calming me.
Jacob let’s go of my face but picks up my other hand. Keeping contact with me. “No, I’m not a Vampire. But I’m not entirely human either.”
Thankfully they are both holding on to me, so I remain calm when I ask “Okay, but what are you then?”
