I wake up in a beautiful bedroom, a room the size of our house furnished to perfection. It is painted in warm cream yellow colour. There’s a large window draped in baby purple curtains where sunlight seeps through. On my right is a beautiful stand with a single photo of a pretty little girl who looks like she’s smiling down at me.
“That’s my little girl Tina. She disappeared from the face of the earth but I have never stopped looking. My name is Ian Milo and you must be Olivia.” I hear the smoothest voice I’ve ever heard and turn to see the most handsome man I have ever come across.
I can’t stop gawking at him. He waves his hand on my face chuckling, “Earth to Olivia.”
“Oh….ah….hallo…sorry, I mean….”oaky I am now blabbering ha? Breath Olivia…..stupid heart! I sift my face using my hands and realize I am crying. “Where am I? Where is my f….family…?”
I suddenly move away from him making me wince in pain from moving my leg too fast. I start shivering and sobbing loudly trying to move away from him and he comes near looking worried.
He raises his hand and thinking he wants to hit me, I give a loud cry making him retrieve his hand looking at me and for a moment I see guilt, anger, pain, lust? He huffs and leaves but, in a few minutes, he comes back with a petite blond who looks warmly at me.
“Hi, I am sophie, Mr. Milo’s nurse. I need to sedate you so that you can calm down and you will wake up in about an hour, is that okay with you?” she asks warmly and I feel a little at ease with her but looking behind her I continue shivering hoping not to get a nervous breakdown.
“I hear there’s a new one.”
“As I have heard,” another one says.
“It will be easier now,” the first one comments.
“I hope she’s not a snob,” Another says dejectedly.
I slide down the wall holding my hands on my head trying to block the voices and curl like a ball. Sophie comes over and asks Ian to hold me down. He does as told and she sedates me amidst my cries. I slowly succumb to darkness and the last thing I feel is someone carrying me bridal style to bed and whispering in my ear that I will be alright.
I wake up after a long nap and groggily clear my dry sore throat. I take the glass of water placed on my table together with some pain killers and limp to one of the slightly opened doors. I find out it’s an empty closet and I limp towards the next door. I find a bathroom and after painfully finishing my business I take a bath. Before long I see the water turning red and I step out of the shower feeling dizzy. I hold onto the walls and heave myself out passing out just outside the bathroom.
I wake up a few moments later to find Ian and Sophie conversing quietly. I keep my eyes shut to fool them that I am still out and try to listen in but I can’t get a word they are saying, although I hear my name being thrown around. They keep silent for a few minutes and thinking that they have left I open my eyes to find green orbs looking at me.
“Glad you are up. We need to talk.” He says to me his face stone cold serious.
I heave myself up and sit leaning on the headboard eye-raping this god of a man.
“Tell me everything you remember Olivia.”
“I can’t remember anything,” I tell him groggily.
“Here, have some water.” He tells me warmly.
I take small sips occasionally stealing glances at this Greek god only to find him looking at me hard. He is so powerful, I want to feel those musles…but he is my captor and truthfully I don’t know what the hell is happening. I feel uncomfortable around him and his aura dictates, ‘do as I say and all will be good’ and that is why I decide to tell him everything, I don’t have an option anyway, do I?
I narrate everything breaking down a few times with him hugging and holding me softly rubbing my back.
“I would want to know what happened to my sister because I gather my parents are now dead?” I ask him crossing my fingers for a positive answer.
“Your sister is missing and we have every reason to believe that she’s alive.” He says taking my hands in his big rough but warm ones.
“She….she is? Really? But….missing? How?”
“Why are you helping me? How did you get to me without them seeing you? Were you there?” I ask him and I feel him stiffen.
His eyes change from gold orbs to pitch black. He releases his hold on me and pass his hand on his hair ruffling it more making him look handsomely dangerous.
“Can we not talk about that now? Let us concentrate on you getting better. I will send a maid with something to eat and you should take more rest.” He says getting up and leaving the room. I scoff and cross my hands on my chest losing my mind to what happened at home.
A beautiful girl comes inside my room unannounced and smiles down at me. “Hallo my name is Alexandra but everyone calls me Alex.” She stretches her hand for me to take.
“Um, hallo. I am..”
“Olivia, I know…everyone knows.” She beams at me.
“Who is everyone?” I ask her and she seems taken back.
“Ian didn’t tell you? Argrrrrr….I am his girlfriend.” She smirks looking at me with hooded eyes as if gauging my reaction to the news. It hurts that my new crush already has someone but who am I anyway. After staring at me queerly for a while she looks up at me and beams.
“I have an idea.”
I look at her wondering what is up with her. She is too friendly but she emits bad aura, as if she is hiding something.
“We can go downstairs and I will introduce you to everyone!” She says clearly happy with herself but when I don’t respond to her enthusiasm her face drops.
“I can’t walk,” I force a smile.
She looks at me her smile dropping and her face masked with an emotion, angry maybe?
“Okay then, rest up and feel at home,” She smiles, the smile barely reaching her eyes and leaves my room muttering “b***h” under her breath.
“I’ve heard that,” Me and my big mouth.
“You were meant to hear.” She snarls walking away.
Oaky! What just happened? What did I do to her?
I hear a knock and a house girl comes in with a trolley of food. I nervously look at her fidgeting as my stomach growls from hunger. She looks up at me and gently smiles, “Have your fill ma’am.”
“Please call me Olivia.” I tell her dismissing the pleasantry. She starts leaving the room and I stop her.
“C…can I ask you something?”
“Yeah sure.”
“Where am I? What happened?”
“I am sorry ma’am I can’t answer that. Sir will talk to you later, don’t worry, you will like it here.”
“Please address me as Olivia, and who is Alex then?” I ask her and at this she sits down and holds my hands. She looks solemnly at me and says, “I will tell you something but please keep it to yourself. Alex is not who she says she is so please stay clear of her. Can you do that for me?”
“Y….yeah, but why?”
“She is self-made Sir Ian’s girlfriend and treats us like s**t when he is not around. I heard her telling her minions that you seem special to Sir and should get to the bottom of it. Please take care of yourself.”
Before I can utter any more words, the door opens strongly hitting the wall and we see Alex breathing fire. She looks straight at the house maid and yells at her, “GET OUT!”
She nervously stands up straightening her uniform of imaginary creases and I can tell that she is worried sick. Before she takes the first step, I stop her.
“Wait, I didn’t even get to know your name,”
“Sarah,” She answers smiling sadly. She looks longer at me and suddenly bends over grabbing me for a hug. “Please take care. She is dangerous.” She leaves the trolley there and leaves my bedroom. Alex looks disgustingly at me and evilly smirks leaving the room. I look worriedly at my door hoping that Sarah will be okay and that she will tell me more.
